FTA= Pending in this historic ballot search is the outcome of at least one race: a close contest between Circuit Judge Richard Wennet and challenger William Abramson.

Who? I bet people care more of finding the missing ballots on principle than they do about the actual election outcome.

They really gotta stop the tradition of sending the ballots with the oldest person in the county riding on an alligator through the swamps.

Yeah and Gore and his lawyers and the votes from military personnel. Keep trying. You're 8 years late, let it go.

It just might be time to start treating Florida like some bullshiat, backwater despotic country and send independent foreign observers in to monitor for any voting irregularities. Cripes I think I trust Mugabe to be more accurate and honest.

Nothing else needs to be said about the election in 2000, and frankly I've always held that coming off what was a 'successful' presidency, it shouldn't have been so close to come down to one state making a difference. Gore and Bush ran to the middle so hard that they crashed into each other and came out Bore and Gush.

However, this doesn't change the fact that politicians who believe they are serving a higher purpose than government see these election-things as troublesome annoyances.

(not really. i generally don't vote)

I did, however donate the maximum to all campaigns (via my dad's money) because i told my dad that's the only way i'd donate to romney.

You realize that the Bush campaign was the first one to run to their lawyers, right?

And that all the military ballots got counted, even the ones that were postmarked after the election?

You can blame Democratic Palm Beach, Dade, and Broward counties for that fiasco. They designed those awful punch ballots, knowing that the old people would have no clue.

Someone else mentioned it though: if Gore couldn't seal the deal (and even lose his home state) after Clinton's eight years, then he deserved to lose.

You folks are a delightful bunch, really, knowing full well the influence of having Dick Cheney be VP, you like to cast aside the importance of the office as some kind of ribbon-cutter, regardless of the fact that she would be the president-in-waiting for what would be the oldest elected president ever.

They can't even do a primary right. You can forget about the general election for them.

Why even count the ballots? Diebold and voter list purges ensures only one party will win there.

FTFY. They had no problem with counting. Just a problem with selective recounting.

And even if the Dems had recounted like they wanted to, Bush still would have won.

In the event of Nuclear war, neither of them would be alive anyhow. Nor would anyone within 10 miles or so of the city limits of any burg with a population over 100,000. So... the question is kind of silly either way.

//The other problem with the argument is that it invites comparison to Biden... who's more of the same, though Palin at least doesn't really pretent to be other than corrupt and partisan.

True. Following the antics of cities with crack smoking mayors is much more entertaining. You don't know of any do you? We're just not all that interesting down here.

wow... that's almost a bit prejudice. :) Personally, I'd love to see a non-democrate or non-republican get the whitehouse for a change. Those 2 parties have America by the bass balls. However, since we can't shake the 2 giants - I'd rather voe for the "black guy that`s in love with himself" over more of what we've had the past 8 years. While I like their stance on gun ownership - Proud NRA member - Bush and his rubberstamping congress have destroyed this country and Mccain was part of that disaster. At least Obama is new and fresh. How much worse could he really make it?!

Funny enough, the PRI are considered 'liberals'. Here's how it works:

PAN: "Dirty Conservatives, Opus Dei watchdogs"

PRD: "Dirty commies"

PRI: "Dirty Liberals"

The rest of the smaller parties (about four or five): "Rejects, sellouts and crooks kicked out of the other three parties".
