Seriously. I was trying to figure out just where it got weird, I never heard of Michael Jackson until "Thriller" became hugely famous in Japan when I was just graduating junior high. At that point he was still black, but I think was maybe already on his first fake nose (it was a bit thinner than in the boy pics).

Weird thing later in the slideshow is he's not just "could be a white guy" but he's practically fluorescent, it's particularly noticeable in pictures where he's with the rest of his family (and Janet) who all still look like normal people.

I remember when Conan O'Brien had the official ceremony to remove Nick Nolte's mugshot from it's place of honor and replace it with Micheal's. That photoshopped idea of what he would look like had he remained black is more disturbing though.

Our society needs more people like Michael Jackson. Seriously EVERYBODYblack or white, gay or straight, biracial, or alien can ALL agree on one thing MJ IS WEIRD! Having arguments with your co-workers over Obama or McCain? Change the subject to MJ and everyone will be on the same page. Michael Jackson is one of the great unifiers in our society.

That was actually a really interesting photo essay, even if I did have to click 50 farking times. It was kind of sad, in a way.

He was a cute kid, and I agree with itazurakko's link that the first (and possibly second) plastic surgeries made him smoking hot. But then you look at Janet later on and she's good-looking too, so it's not like he had to have the surgery.

Also, they included the word "dangling" in the pic of him and his kid. I hate that it's the only word they ever use. It detracts from the power of the pictures themselves. I haven't liked or trusted the man since... I dunno '90 I guess, but using specific words to poison the viewer undermines the point.

After it all, I actually feel a little sorry for him. I believe he at least engaged in inappropriate behavior with children (at the very least), but the pictures kind of gave the impression that he's been lonely his entire life. I wonder if that's what they wanted the viewer to feel?
