"I hope he rots in jail. It's going to affect the sales of the record, and it's not fair. The internet is what it is, and you have to deal with it accordingly, but I think if someone goes and steals something, it's theft."

And I think that if there is nothing you can do about it, you should just lay back and think of England.

Hmm. I distinctively remember an interview with Slash when Use Your Illusion 1 & 2 came out where he said that kids should get together and each buy one and share them. And I met him twice and he seemed like a cool guy. Maybe he should get back on the booze.

Never liked G&R.

Like Slash though.

Strange.

God forbid if a musician has an opinion about music leaks. If only those who are directly involved would be allowed to voice their opinions about news, fark.com would have very few comments.

If it's a Slash quote why is there a picture of Howard Stern with
the article?

In other words; he's outraged about someone doing something to people he really has no association or care about

What's his fark login?

Maybe the fact the band hasn't been relevant for 10 years, the album is a joke in itself, and judging from a few recent leaks the Axle Rose band sucks might have more to do with damage to album sales.

Damn, he's not aged well.

You know what would keep people from leaking this music?
Putting out the damn album!!

Seriously, Axl should be ecstatic that somebody wants to even listen to what will obviously be a disappointing, egotistical, bloated piece of crap if and when it actually comes out. He's been dicking around what's actually left of his fanbase for so long, I'm amazed anyone would WANT to hear leaked tracks.

He should be glad that leakers are actually keeping his music in the public sphere, instead of siccing the f-ing federal government on people. It doesn't matter if Axl (or Slash) are technically in the right here--Metallica was technically in the right about Napster, and now they're seen by most people as greedy old men who deserve to have their music stolen.

And that's really some tough ass talk coming from Slash, seeing as how he's made exactly the exact same amount of worthwhile, original music as Axl since he's left G&R (G&R tribute bands with bland, lukewarm "original" material and rotating, over-rated, heroin-addicted frontmen don't count).

So did this blogger work on the album? From what I understand, he found the tracks somewhere else. So he didn't leak it. Might want to look at someone associated with the recording studio or with the band...

I call them Axl Rose's Flying Circus.

Arn_Dee: Damn, he's not aged well.

Agreed. Man, he looks awful...sort of like my aunt Louise with Lennon sunglasses on.

OK, the tapes themselves are Axl's--he owns them, OK?
But the magic that is on the tapes, the heart and soul he put into those tapes--that belongs to the ages, and he doesn't own that.
He needs to take that magic and get it to the record company. And they're waiting for him. Axl was supposed to be there a half-hour ago. He looks like an asshole right now!

I blame it all on Lars.

I think if someone goes and steals something, it's theft.

Genius. Also, if you can't make yourself come across well in your own autobiography, you're probably not that great a guy.

/Slash didn't come across well
//probably not a great human being
///still better than Anthony Kiedis

Maduin 2008-09-03 08:01:08 PM
Says the guy who bragged about how many tapes he got out of a record store until he finally got caught.

/for a whole chapter
