PoopStain: For the first time in a national election I can honestly say "I'd hit it" when speaking about one of the candidates. That's not enough to get my vote, but I would certainly lie to her to get her into bed.

and that pretty much says it all.

Take THAT, Palin!

What? Your telling me Bush, Gore, Kerry and all the other middle aged men who have run for pres or VP in the last 20 years don't get your mojo rising?

Shocking.

I'd just like to point out that there are more people at a typical Obama rally than the population of the town where she was Mayor.

And more people will vote republican in the next election than will attend ANY Obama rally. What's your point?

I don't know about that - some of these politicians are into some pretty kinky things.

It is interesting to watch all the men on the news shows (like CNN/NBC) trashing another woman like they did will Hillary over the past 15 months.

They conclude that Palin has no experience when in fact she has more executive experience than the three men combined.

Yeah, because that's more important than having national and international experience. . .

YEah. . . That's the ticket.

Retodd [TotalFark] 2008-08-31 06:11:42 PM
Joe Biden probably knows what the Vice Presidency actually entails. Sarah Palin admitted herself that she has no idea what a VP does.

Spin that, Fark IndependentsTM.

/This should be interesting.

MonkeyAngst 2008-08-31 06:11:45 PM
I dunno. Biden's prety good looking for a 65-year-old guy. I'd certainly have sex with him before I'd have sex with any socially conservative woman, no matter how good looking she was.

Now, I'm not clear on exactly what circumstances would result in me actually having to make that choice, but that would be pretty interesting...

My point is that any local organizer who's headed an Obama rally is as qualified to be VP as Sarah Palin.

I really really hate people trotting out this line. Executive experience in Bumfark, Nowhere, pop. 9,000, doesn't mean jack shiat. Sorry. It doesn't. Not all executive experience is created equal. There's a goddamn reason some states have more electoral votes than others. Sheesh.

Palin's ENTIRE purpose is to be a decoy/aggrieved victim. The pick was made PRECISELY to draw fire away from McSame and cry sexism when her credentials are shredded. It is a pick that counts on a complicit media and a braindead populace, just like every Republican strategic move the last 28 years. Palin is Harriet Miers II. The Dems just need to let her fail on her own and make any criticism of her a referendum on McSame's judgment.

Okay, here's a good question: how does adding Palin to the ticket make McCain a more desirable candidate?

So...anybody else think it would have been amusing if Palin had been around when McCain was offering up women for the Sturgis Buffalo Chip "beauty contest?"

Women aren't buying this. And you actually insult them for using such transparent gimmicks.

Take your concern over to H44 and the PUMA blogs.

Wow, then why isn't at the top of your ticket? Rather than just second fiddle?

Executive experience? That's your arguement.

/Really?

CanisNoir [TotalFark] 2008-08-31 06:19:13 PM
I'm sick of the "Experience" line too, from both sides. Palin makes it a wash; McCain gave up the "Experience" Narritave when Obama took it away from him by picking Biden. McCain stole Obama's "Change" Narrative when he chose a Reformer from way outside Washington who's actually taken Big Oil to task. In the Chess Game that is Politics, it was a good move for McCain.

RTFA: It's a non-story, it's also why I like Biden, despite being a McCain\Palin supporter. It was a line to fire up his audience, was kind of funny, but completely irrelivant and makes no salient points.

/Nothing to see here, please move along.

I am happy about her experience, McCain just conceded that argument to Obama and now has to figure out another talking point.

I just hope Biden goes easy on her during the debates, watching a woman squirm on the national spotlight is just painful.

InmanRoshi 2008-08-31 06:24:51 PM
I'm torn on the "She has executive experience" meme .. on one hand I think it's just said in defiance, but then another part of me really thinks they have no idea how monumentally dumb they sound when they say it. As though they are so encased in the dittohead echochamber that it drowns out the collective laughter of 70% of the population.

Regardless, it's entertaining every time I hear it mentioned, and it's brightened up my last 72 hours.

Except showing that McCain cares about winning more than governing. But that has been obvious from the beginning.

Isn't that an oxymoron. I mean, telling a young girl to close her legs and beware of tentacle monsters isn't exactly sexual education...

Opiate of the Lasses: Palin's ENTIRE purpose is to be a decoy/aggrieved victim. The pick was made PRECISELY to draw fire away from McSame and cry sexism when her credentials are shredded.

... And to harvest "inexperience" criticism quotes from Obama supporters, to turn against him after Palin drops out and is replaced by Romney.

At which point, watch for the scenery-chewing Oscar-nominated "OMG the sexist misogynist meanyhead lefties unfairly drove her out just because she's a woman - JUST LIKE HILLARY!!!1" performance from the right.

I doubt it. We've had some great movies come out so far this year. I bet it won't even get nominated.
