She's a Christian.

Yes, it's about time a Christian broke through that glass ceiling and into a position of power in America.

And that's not even the weakest item on the list.

Frank Bailey, the boards and commissions director, told The Associated Press he acted on his own - and not on behalf of Palin or her husband, Todd - when he called Ketchikan-based Lt. Rodney Dial, pushing for the firing of Trooper Mike Wooten.

"There was never any direction by the governor, never any direction by Todd to make the call or to make any call to DPS on this stuff," Bailey said.

Oops.

Link (new window)

However, I still encourage all lefties to continue to try to make a scandal out of Governor Palin supposedly trying to get fired a cop who tasered his own stepson, threatened to put a bullet in the head of the Governor's father, drank in his police vehicle, and was hit with a protection-from-abuse court order. We Republicans are grateful that you continue to make the case for us that Palin fights to rid government of the corrupt.

You know what they say... it's not what you did that gets you fired/impeached/deciding to "spend more time with the family"... it's the coverup.

Question: Is it possible for McCain to change his mind about his VP pick, or is it set in stone at this point?

It's never set in stone. In '72, the dems replaced their VP pick after the convention had come and gone.

Just slap him on your ignore list. I did it months ago and then only time I'm bothered by the idiot is when people quote him. Do yourself a huge favour. There are a bunch of cons who are worth spending keypresses on, he's not one of them.

Even if she is innocent of any criminal charges it reflects badly on her character. That's about all she's been picked for, so you do the the math, sucka.

It's fun to watch you display your ignorance of what magnitude of "scandal" is required to sink a campaign.

culebra Even if she is innocent of any criminal charges it reflects badly on her character.

Actually, by logic is is pretty apparent she did nothing wrong (if she wanted to take revenge for the trooper not being fired, why did she wait 2 1/2 years, and why him rather than Grimes?

But if you liberals want to argue that it is wrong to fire a guy who abused his wife, Tasered his stepson, drank in his cop car, hunted without a license, abused the authority granted him by the state of Alaska, and had a PFA slapped on him, then please, by all means, don't let anyone stop you! We Republicans are thrilled that you continue to demonstrate that Sarah Palin does not stand idly by while the corrupt remain in the employ of the government.

God...both sides have become so corrupted. At this point the finger-pointing and smack talking has just gone on long enough. The country would benefit from a whole lot of death to slap people back into reality.

There are no words in the english language to describe my contempt for BOTH sides.....as they exist to do nothing but force people to do things their way.

Jeremiah Wright? William Ayers?

The guy tasered a 10 year old kid and drank beer in his patrol car. He should have been fired.

I was under the impression that the commissioner was pressured to fire the trooper because the trooper was unfit for duty.

It seems to me that the only reason the trooper was still around was because the commissioner was hedging on firing the guy because he was worried about the Governor connection.
