Children are easily manipulated, its why democrats want to keep the kids in government controlled schools, cant have a generation growing up thinking for themselves.

Yeah, I watched the movie and read the book like a million time when I was a kid. I was looking for tips on how to rule the world even back then.
I was/am an Eric Cartman in the making.

This is not surprising at all, white people are inherently racists. That is the reason why black people had to struggle for that long to get some kind of rights.

Kind of true. I hate white people. I mean, with a serious passion. They smell like wet dog when it rains.

And yet that empty suit has done far more in the past few years alone than you done in your lifetime to help others. That and being a legal scholar, community leader for over a decade where he raised many people out of the projects and that half the stuff he voted on that they accused him of having a socialist agenda, such as voting against increased prison terms for certain crimes is a conservative vote. You know, maintaining the status quo. Not trying to create new laws for social control such as zero tolerance.

We saw the original "Wave" back in school. Our teacher was trying very hard to show us the follies of Nazism. So hard, she started getting on our nerves. After seeing the "Wave" we decided to pull her leg by reenacting it. We ran through the school with the "Wave salute" shouting the parole.

What had we learnt from the movie, the teacher asked.

"That the group is everything, you mean nothing without the group. And any group needs a leader."

She nearly had a nervous breakdown because nearly all the boys gave her this answer :D

The quoting kills the HTML, but the point remains.

School should be about education, not about indoctrination. I've seen more evidence of leftist indoctrination in public schools, but that's only because of opportunity.

Public school was never designed for kids to think for themselves, it was designed to prepare them for a life in the industrial world, asking permission for everything, taking turns, and keeping a schedule that's measured in half-minutes. The subject matter isn't nearly as important as this aspect of the education system. If you think about that for a minute, you realize that social promotion of kids that can't read really isn't all that contrary to the so called "education" system. After all, if little Johnny can't read or do sums, he still can take break when the buzzer rings at the local widget factory, and he won't cause trouble by walking around and talking to the other workers. He'll never be a supervisor or a mechanic due to lack of problem solving ability and difficulty in acquiring new knowledge, but that's not a problem as those positions are few and far between anyway.

The lack of competition in schools today is also troubling. Re, the precious snowflakes not understanding how the real world works where you have to fight and scrap to get by. Perhaps not in the literal sense, but in the figurative, everyone is against everyone else at the end of the day to put food on the table. There are tenuous alliances formed when convenient for the parties involved, but it's still a dog eat dog world. America strives for the best, and the schools should reflect this. School should be about learning to compete ethically, as well as learning, and bargaining, as well as community. When a kid is never exposed to the concept of winners and losers, it sets them up for a hard fall when they go out to the real world.

Dr.Fey: http://www.geniebusters.org/915/wave_statements.html

You have to remember when reading things like this that right during the time of the events, as soon as the teacher let them students know that it was an experiment and that they were basically being 'nazi-fied', they IMMEDIATELY began denying being taken in by it; an "It didn't happen/I didn't participate" kind of thing. The people wanted to distance themselves from it, and denial is the most obvious and direct way of doing that.
