If they had accidentally parachuted into Invesco Field at Mile High Stadium on Thursday, they would have been dead before the hit the ground.

Duke sucks so hard it diverted the skydivers a whole 8 miles.

No-one as in who? The Skydivers or the spectators? This wasn't exactly a terrorist attack or anything.

/ What a dumbass thing to say.

If only there was an inexpensive portable device that could tell you your exact position available.

I can just imagine what went through the skydiver's minds as the approached the stadium...

What are those letters spelling at the end of the field?

Many, many years ago, when I was in college, the Army Golden Knights did a demo/recruiting jump into the area behind our student center.

The college skydiving club thought this looked like a good idea and decided to try the same thing several weeks later. The first guy out was a complete attention whore, yelling and steering himself all over the place. As he approaches landing, he realizes he's outside the LZ (the "oh shiat" was quite audible), and turns hard. He crossed the LZ safety line with his boots and smoke ejectors about 5 feet off the ground, and clobbered two spectators.

/Nobody expects the Spanish Skydiving Inquisition

Maybe the people on the field who didn't know what was about to happen, and could have gotten in the way?

I'm a skydiver, and I landed 3-4 miles away from the intended area a few weeks ago*, so I'm getting a kick out of these replies.

* tried a CRW jump, i was flying one direction (away from the DZ), and we never docked. since then, i've had a few successful CRW jumps

In other news, Duke pulls off a huge upset by knocking off Div 1-AA James Madison.

Heh, never done CRW myself, really not my interest. Canopies are made for taking you to the ground after freefly. Well, ok, maybe with a 270° and a short swoop =D

Actually we were planning as an end-of-season jump with some friends to land in a nearby stadium during a game and pretend we just missed the DZ. Video on youtube if we do it.
