Barrack Hussein Obama...

You expect me to believe he is something other than a black Muslim? He's part Irish like I'm part Inuit.

Yes, the Irish Muslims.

True, when you hold an idea that's not based on a shred of evidence, it's called a belief.

As opposed to knowledge, which requires proof, which you lack.

Yep... No Shame. I have been in fark threads long enough to know nothing is off limits. Plus Biden's son talked about his stutter for like 5 minutes during his speech, so its fair game.

Actually, I'm related to the Kennedy clan, via the Archer clan back in the 1400s, kinda scary.

I'd like to see her research though, anyone who does Irish Genealogy knows that it's damn hard work as most of the records were destroyed in the 1920s. So I'm skeptical.

I just don't trust that man who likes to listen to the sermons of "God Damn America" to run our nation.

Call me silly. Or conservative, even. I just don't trust him.

I just don't trust concern trolls that like to label those who are critical of government as "unpatriotic".

Let me tell you something, son: Regardless of what you think of his sermons, Jeramiah Wright has done way more good for this country than you and your ilk ever will.

Now go find some old Reagan footage to masturbate to.

You have to consider the context of that bit in Wright's sermon.
I have no reason to believe that Wright hates America. Quite the opposite.
I think he hates what it's becoming; a sentiment that I and many others share with him.

Strictly speaking, a person who makes shoes is a cordwainer, not a cobbler. Although the modern usage has expanded to include the work of making shoes, a cobbler traditionally repairs shoes but does not make them.

In the context of a preacher warning that the country is zipping quickly down the waterslide to perdition. And thus not worthy of blessing.
I believe that his words were intended to shock.

Put it in it's full context (new window) and it's actually a very effective speech.

"And the United States of America government, when it came to treating her citizens of Indian descent, she failed. She put them on reservations."

"When it came to putting her citizens of Japanese descent fairly, she failed. She put them in interment prison camps."

"When it came to putting the citizens of African descent fairly, America failed. She put them in chains. The government put them on slave quarters. Put them on auction blocks. Put them in cotton fields. Put them in inferior schools. Put them in substandard housing. Put them scientific experiments. Put them in the lower paying jobs. Put them outside the equal protection of the law. Kept them out of their racist bastions of higher education, and locked them into positions of hopelessness and helplessness."

"The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three strike law and then wants us to sing God Bless America. Naw, naw, naw. Not God Bless America. God Damn America! That's in the Bible. For killing innocent people. God Damn America for treating us citizens as less than human. God Damn America as long as she tries to act like she is God and she is Supreme."

"The United States government has failed the vast majority of her citizens of African descent. Think about this. Think about this. For every one Oprah, a billionaire, you've got 5 million blacks that are out of work. For every one Colin Powell, a millionaire, you've got 10 million blacks who cannot read. For every one Condi-Skeezer Rice, you've got 1 million in prison. For every one Tiger Woods, who needs to get beat at the Masters, with his Cablanasian hips, playing on a course that discriminates against women, God has this way of brining you up short when you get to big for your Cablanasian britches. For every one Tiger Woods, we've got 10,000 black kids who will never see a golf course. The United States government has failed the vast majority of her citizens of African descent."

"Tell your neighbor he's (going to) help us one last time. Turn back and say forgive him for the God Damn, that's in the Bible though. Blessings and curses is in the Bible. It's in the Bible.

"Where government fail, God never fails. When God says it, it's done. God never fails. When God wills it, you better get out the way, cause God never fails. When God fixes it, oh believe me it's fixed. God never fails. Somebody right now, you think you can't make it, but I want you to know that you are more than a conqueror through Christ. You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you."

See what Huckabee has to say about it:

"Now, the second story. It's interesting to me that there are some people on the left who are having to be very uncomfortable with what Louis Wright said, when they all were all over a Jerry Falwell, or anyone on the right who said things that they found very awkward and uncomfortable years ago. Many times those were statements lifted out of the context of a larger sermon. Sermons, after all, are rarely written word for word by pastors like Reverend Wright, who are delivering them extemporaneously, and caught up in the emotion of the moment. There are things that sometimes get said, that if you put them on paper and looked at them in print, you'd say "Well, I didn't mean to say it quite like that.

And one other thing I think we've gotta remember. As easy as it is for those of us who are white, to look back and say "That's a terrible statement!"...I grew up in a very segregated south. And I think that you have to cut some slack - and I'm gonna be probably the only Conservative in America who's gonna say something like this, but I'm just tellin' you - we've gotta cut some slack to people who grew up being called names, being told "you have to sit in the balcony when you go to the movie. You have to go to the back door to go into the restaurant. And you can't sit out there with everyone else. There's a separate waiting room in the doctor's office. Here's where you sit on the bus..." And you know what? Sometimes people do have a chip on their shoulder and resentment. And you have to just say, I probably would too. I probably would too. In fact, I may have had more of a chip on my shoulder had it been me."

Geez man...you don't have to look too far back into American history to see our government acting in very unchristian ways towards it fellow man. I'm not very religious, but I remember some of the things taught in catachism that could get one "damned" by the big guy... our treatment of the native population, blacks, and the chinese come to mind.
