She is pretty, has a vagina and McCain is looking for some of the Clinton vote. This isn't SCARY, it's OBVIOUS.

BKITU [TotalFark] 2008-08-29 06:36:12 PM
If this is how McCain vets his VP candidate, if he's elected I'm guessing he's going to choose his Cabinet by throwing darts at a phone book.

Visualingo [TotalFark] 2008-08-29 06:42:08 PM
I'd vet it

/probably been used thousands of times so far

I know what you mean, I heard all about the Palin thing long before every "conservative" started trumpeting about Biden all day every day...

wait. Oh yeah, it becomes bias when your own shiat gets rubbed back in your face.

I don't remember Biden "disliking" Obama. I do remember that he was campaigning against him and said he didn't yet have enough experience. But as far as I know, their personal and political relationship has always been fine.

obama chose to work with a genuine peer who is not afraid to say what he thinks.

mccain chose a neophyte token candidate because he's convinced Fox and Friends has the most sophisticated take on why people vote for President of the United States.

Mordant [TotalFark] 2008-08-29 07:10:11 PM
eqtworld: otherwise it is fairly accurate

They're doing amazing things with medication these days. You honestly f*cking believe that Obama's name around here is constantly because brainwashed libs are praising him and not because little dickhead "conservatives" are constantly slinging shiat ?

Seriously ?

Jesus f*cking Christ.

Ok, whatever.

Choosing a conservative republican state governor to run with you as on your presidential ticket is the same thing as finding a trophy wife?

Choosing an attractive conservative Republican first-term state governor that was the completely unknown mayor of a town of 9,000 in Alaska less than two years ago to run with you as on your presidential ticket is the same thing as finding a trophy wife.

Several overlapping sets of the nit-wit population will love her; Anti-choicers, various flavors of fundies, rugged he-man westeners, and creationists.

On the other hand she should be scaring the piss out of the slimy fuk heads on hte hill navel deep in corruption.

This could get very interesting.

Mordant [TotalFark] 2008-08-29 08:00:40 PM
Gee, I guess because there are so many headlines about McCain right now the bias must be in favor of him. Why oh why are the Democrats so unfairly persecuted by the bias on fark ? Look at how many times McCain's name is on the page ! Oh woe is me !!

This is pretty amazing. The big story here isn't Palin (though thats pretty crazy in itself), but rather McCain's judgement - making a completely unserious pick for PURELY political purposes. Nothing in this pick is about governing - it's all about the political ramifications.

Right you are. And it will end up biting him in the ass sooner rather than later. Those that supported Romney and Pawlenty are pissed off and Independents will see this for what it is; pure political gaming, not a decision based on who is the best person for the job.

And when Palin and Biden sit down for their debate it will be embarrassing to watch her she will fail so hard.

Friggin' Mayor Palin herself supported Romney over McCain.

tryptik 2008-08-29 09:59:13 PM
It's kind of funny, how this is all playing out. Hillary supporters were upset that she was treated horribly by the press - sexism and all that.

Now, the GOP are pulling out a blatantly and purely sexist ploy to get those votes. "What? Oh, we got a VP with a vagina - that's what you ladies want, isn't it?"

A vote for Palin seems like a vote for keeping women secondary to men, a vote crying for something and whining when you don't get it, and, above all, it is a vote for being gullible as hell.

But this will divine the true Hillary Clinton supporters who are sexist from those that simply like Hillary or her platform.

It will be interesting.

robsul82 [TotalFark] 2008-08-29 10:00:15 PM
The vetting process that apparently overlooked ethics investigations, saying she doesn't know what the VP does, or calling Hillary Clinton a "whiner."

"Give yourself a raise, why don't you!"

Both major parties can DIAF as far as I'm concerned. But it's the Republicans in particular that need to be brought down a peg or ten, post haste.

All I can say is, she'd better hold on tight and have ALL her shiat together. Reporters and oppo research are going to be digging deeper into her life than she could possibly have imagined.

Dimplehumper 2008-08-29 10:03:06 PM
Farkers should enjoy our Palin threads while we can. I don't see her staying on the ticket more than a few weeks. This has got to be a head-fake by some scheming douche who has persuaded ol' Johnnie that it's a chance to:
1) Placate the fundie base,
2) Get the Cheesecake Brigade fired up for the GOP,
3) Get the aforementioned CB fired up against the Dems for picking on her,
4) Trick the Dems into making some quotable "experience matters" soundbites that they can turn around to smear Obama after Palin decides to "spend more time with her family", and
5) Create some additional "free advertising" to try to even out Obama's money advantage.

I see this clear as day. No tinfoil needed.

Biden is gonna be picking chunks of her out of his stool for days after the VP debates.

that's what i'm thinking. i mean really, i can't see this ending well for mccain at all. he raises some money, the rnc postpones the convention, palin goes crying back to alaska and mccain pulls out romney for reals this time.

I somewhat agree, although I think Palin will resign in the first year for "personal reasons" (if elected, of course). They want to lock in those votes first.
