But he helped write McCain's healthcare plan. Awesome.

This is some insane, insane bullshiat.

Apparently, banned Fark trolls are now writing McCain's healthcare plans.

So just who the hell actually speaks for the McCain campaign these days? That Tucker guy? Cause everytime he opens his mouth, he makes McCain seem even more doddering than usual.

baka-san [TotalFark] 2008-08-28 04:49:17 PM
isn't this their answer every time any of his advisers say anything?

"So instead of producing worthless statistics that people fling around in vacuous editorials and pointless debates, the Census Bureau should produce meaningful numbers, identifying all of the sources of funds people will draw on if they need medical care," said Goodman, who helped write McCain's health care plan.

Dude. You're not even trying. Millions of people can't get health care and your suggestion is one of linguistics and semantics?

JohnnyC 2008-08-28 04:51:29 PM
So it sounds like they want to do the same thing they did with "unemployed" people by re-categorizing as something else since they have run out of unemployment so that it appears that there are less unemployed people on paper. So uninsured people would be called what?

Tip for the McCain folks: calling something by a different name does not solve the problem, it makes it worse since the point of calling it by some other name is so you can ignore the problem.

It sure isn't John McCain. (Pops)

Pawlenty did that with the word "tax" here in Minnesota. he calls them "fees" or "revenue enhancers" after promising to not raise taxes.

Please allow me, someone who has "no connection" to the McCain campaign, but who authored his health plan, to retort.
A Rose by another name would smell sweeter.

50mm [TotalFark] 2008-08-28 04:57:39 PM
Another one:
That plan would use a combination of tax incentives and market competition to make health care more affordable.

And for those who can't afford it still? I guess the icy scythe of death is always willing to help.

I've got two (2) Internets for anyone who can find a link to a video from Conan O'Brien making fun of John McCain during the 2000 republican nomination race, where he says, "You're a Veteran? Oh, I hadn't heard..."

It made me laugh so hard then, and my roommate and I quote it pretty regularly whenever someone pulls a Captain Obvious. I think it's fitting to dig up and make a meme out of.

Tough. We need it, we are getting it, and you can whine all you want about.

Lawnchair 2008-08-28 05:52:54 PM
Remember, John McCain has had government-provided health care since the day he was born in a government hospital.

Barack Obama had a mother who died in massive medical debt, uninsured and uninsurable.

or how they made NCLB look like it was working, by taking students who drop out because they can't pass the tests and categorize them as getting GED's indeterminately.

vabeard 2008-08-28 05:53:23 PM
McCain has been on the Gov't healthcare dole since his birth. He knows nothing about being uninsured. Hell, even his birth was paid for by the DOD/Gov't.

I also missed the part where they said that future American citizens should automatically default to the opinions of 230 year old men who shiat in buckets and owned slaves.

Then get rid of your health insurance. You shouldn't be a burden on others in the plan should you get sick.

OK, so I'm avg joe family guy. With the wife and I both working we make about 100K a year. I may have a few more toys than the guy making 60K but I'm just as broke.

So, how does universal healthcare help my family.

Clearly, McCain supports Darwin.

If you aren't healthy enough to live without medical care until you die of natural causes, we don't want you contributing to the gene pool.

Meh, it's not the worst I've gotten from a Texan. You really have to admire a state that can call you a communist-nazi-fag-jew, with a straight face.
