I like Babyshambles, but hate the guy. I do like his previous band a bit more though -- The Libertines. I don't think he was quite as heavily into the drugs at that point.

The Libertines ruled in my opinion. And two words for your question: "the internet." It's because people have to check up on celebrities and their drug arrests now to make themselves feel better. Do you read about this shiat in the paper? Maybe the Sun in Britain or some other tabloid but people know only idiots read that. No way are you going to pick up your paper and see in the music section "Cobain arrested for heroin, again. Back in the 70s it would have been news if Fleetwood Mac didn't get busted for blow or smack.

Like honestly who the you know what cares about rockstars doing drugs. Before anyone come in saying oh this guy is only famous because he did drugs and got arrested. NO, check the facts. Having a number one record in Britain DOES give you a little bit of fame, albeit not as much as sitting in your moms basement being amazed that rockstars have train wreck lives and then reading gossip papers and then biatching how you don't want to hear about it.
