Don't tell the conservatives!

They're still running around telling everyone how Obama can't manage the convention and hillary is going to ruin everything.

I'd hate to see them have to face any kind of logical situation though, so we'll all just pretend that this is somehow bad for Obama just like we do with everything else.

This is the whole sad refrain I keep hearing. The right wing is almost pining for Hillary. They want a Democratic candidate that's not going to hand them their ass in November.

Yeah, everybody on Fark knows that that Osama bin Obama is an unelectable muslim black christian theologist abortionist terrorist appeaser surrenderer flip-flopping anti-christ baby killing unamerican racist communist fascist ivory tower bigot that would raise taxes 200% on everyone in America, enslave all white people and mandate gayness and abortions while cutting funding from all government agencies to pay illegal immigrants ten thousand dollars a week and then install Saudi oil barons into his cabinet before burning all American flags and tearing down the white house to build a KFC and then etc etc etc etc

Ah, Fark, you make HillaryIs44.org seem sane.

We secretly believe we've already got that going for us. Picking Joe Biden was foolish, but if your opponent is going to cut his own throat, why get in his way?

Who needs talking points? The man brings very little to the table in terms of "change". The impression I've gotten is that when Obama could've chosen someone with fresh blood and a fresh face, he took the safe route and went with the establishment. It's probably a wise move to balance out his own shortcomings, but it certainly doesn't do a lot for his rank-and-file followers who are so desperate to see change materialize before their eyes.

As sad as it makes me, Obama has screwed up pretty big by not at least giving Clinton some token appreciation.

Despite the love affair many first time voters have with him, he's really screwed up. He doesn't have many of the key demographics (older voters, mainly) and he's turned off many in the key democratic base (blue collar workers, women) that Clinton had won over. Many of them won't vote for him, choosing to either stay home or vote for McCain. Biden really only brings experience to the table (experiencing at losing a presidential bid, but I kid) and does nothing to draw these voters in.

The only real hope Obama has now is that enough of America has had enough of Bush to vote against McCain, but considering they voted for the man twice and still consider 'turrists' to be a major threat to their cornfields, I doubt it.

/I support Obama, but still like to look at reality

Well, as he has said, the President sets the agenda. And what he really lacks is Washington experience to actually implement what he wants (talk is cheap). So having a VP to steer him the right way there could be a valuable thing.
