The Sarah Palin that is under investigation for corruption in the Louisiana of the north?

Shabash [TotalFark] 2008-08-23 03:54:49 PM
That's her.

bp3.blogger.com

But that investigation sounds like its bogus.

I think she's got a future, but she's probably too young, and she'd highlight McCain's age, nullifying his experience arguments.

Yeah, that won't be a weird ticket. She'll come off looking like McCain's 'escort'.

He's also going to pick up a large number of voters who when voting for Obama in the primary were really voting against Hillary not necessarily for Obama.

The hard-core Hillary fanatics don't care who McCain chooses as VP. They're not voting on issues; they're fueled by spite. He could name Ol'Yeller to the ticket and still get their votes.

She's got the shoulders we've been missing in a Vice President for quite some time.

HER NAME IS SARAH PALIN

Atillathepun: The Sarah Palin that is under investigation for corruption in the Louisiana of the north?

Not for corruption.

Sweet Ms. Sarah decided that a disciplinary action against her asswipe brother-in-law (a state trooper) wasn't good enough.

Her staff started pressuring the head of the Department of Public Safety to fire said asswipe brother-in-law, who was having a nasty divorce with her sister. Granted, the brother-in-law was a severe asswipe, but the problem was settled internally by the state troopers in accordance with union protocol.

Her husband had a piece of the action, pressuring people to fire the bro-in-law, etc., etc.

When the head of DPS wouldn't break the law by pressuring for firing, she fired him and appointed a guy with a history of sexual harassment, who lasted just a few days.

When the AK legislature passed funding for an independent investigation, *amazingly* Sarah started an investigation of her own, which *amazingly* turned up recorded phone calls of her staff members putting the pressure on, and she held a press conference to distance herself from it -- trying to say her staff (just like Scooter Libby) did it on their own. They got involved in her family affairs and tried to pressure the troopers to fire the bro-in-law.

In sum, it looks like she's a petty little biatch who used her position as governor to try to put the beat-down on the trooper because of family vendettas.

That, and she has little education from an un-noteworthy college, was a city councilwoman, mayor of a tiny town for a few years, and now has done a lackluster job as governor, screwing up the state dairy assets and passing an unpopular gas pipeline incentive.

She doesn't have the experience to run a McDonald's, much less the country (in the event anything happens to the 72-y.o. McCain).

She'll fold like a house of cards under national scrutiny.

Argh2 2008-08-23 06:07:40 PM
Any choice he makes is going to highlight his age, since his VP is more likely to end up as President.

Ironically we'd have managed to shut these women up by now if Obama's VP pick hadn't drafted the Violence Against Women Act.

I am intrigued by the author of this blog, and would like to subscribe to her-

*reads profile*

Mom, recovering attorney, post-modern neo-feminist, enthusiastic regenerated dyke, unlikely punk, nice Catholic girl, passionate freedom-loving libertarian, thinking conservative, sappy romantic, spiritual redneck, softball enthusiast, shopaholic and unrepentant flirt. My other passion is mountain climbing. On July 4, 2007 I started the next phase of my life as a femme desert tomboy in Arizona, where the chick , once called "trailer trash with a brain" by an Intertard wit, will be able to wear unfashionable daisy dukes year round.

Hmmmm... wonder what her Fark username is?

Concealed carry laws are non-existant in Alaska. Fark with women there are your own risk.

Angry Hillary supporters aren't going to vote for Obama anyway so it doesn't matter if McCain picks Carrot Top as his running mate.

It'd be a sad in American history if Obama looses because of the angry white women scorned that their candidate didn't get nominated.

She lives in Alaska and has five kids - her fifth, which she had less than 6 months ago, is retarded. Does anyone think she's remotely interested, since she's have to move her entire family to DC?

It's not about whether or not they'll vote for Obama. It's whether or not they'll vote for McCain. I'd say if he really wanted that demographic, he'd go with Condi... but that's a deep, deep, rabbit hole to go down.

I will restate the question: Why does this blog keep getting green lit? terrible analysis, poorly written.

How many interest groups is McCain juggling again. I tell you, he isn't senile at all. He just knows that every time he answers a question he risks pissing off one of those groups. Evangelicals, hawks/neocons, businessmen, and now women? That's a hard coalition to manage. He's got to talk out of both the front and back of his head AND his ass at the same time, and it's not easy. Thus all the "check with my staff" answers. He really does have to check and make sure his answer is as politically correct (in the original sense) as possible to not risk offending any of the Republicans core groups OR any new groups they might pick up. It's a balancing act of epic proportions, being an artificial candidate. Nixon managed it barely, and Reagan was a natural, McCain is not.

I hope he picks Romney he will be easy to beat. Biden is much like Mccain when it comes to debates. He will chew and spit Romney out.

if he picks a fresh new gov from Alaska with good looks i think Bidens attack dog style would be useless.

Mccain is not that smart. He will pick Mitt the car salesman.

Er, I kind of got off the point. He needs to appease fundamentalist, businessmen, hawks, and women with his VP pick, and that's hard to do. Fiorina might be the best bet for that, but really her business cred isn't as great as it sounds, and she's all ready caused a headache for McCain once.

I think that they will. They can yell about not voting for him all they want, but in the end they'll do it anyway. He's the closest thing to their ideologies that they're going to get. Most of even the rabid ones will see the idiocy of shooting the country in the foot just to spite someone who beat Hillary in the primaries.

I'd love it if they "defeated Obama" and then President McCain appointed a new SCOTUS judge, resulting in the overturning of Roe v Wade or some similar thing. OK I'd really not like that at all, but man would that be funny in a really infuriating sort of way.

THIS If Mccain had any brains he would pick someone that the left or libertarians like. Sure the right might be pissed off but they will come back just like they always do.

Oh gods, another blogger who uses a white-text-on-black-background theme and thinks telling their story with pictures is cute.

How twee.

I puked.

And, this chick does a disservice to every woman in existence by fulfilling the assumption that women will blindly vote for female candidates. Screw you, Barbie. >.

Argh2 2008-08-23 06:35:16 PM
What makes anyone even think Hillary even wanted to be VP? She doesn't strike me as a second-fiddle type. She'd be blamed if they lost the campaign, she's be blamed for any failures of an Obama administration if they won and she tried to run afterwards. I'll bet they made a deal shortly after the primaries for a SCOTUS post. If Obama loses, she can run again clean on the I Told You So ticket.

Lumi 2008-08-23 06:35:39 PM
Perpetuating, rather. Not fulfilling.

Wrong.

Republicans are sheep who always fall in line.... but only in the sense they don't vote for another party.

TURNOUT is qutie another question. Bush won cause he could turn out the base. If McCain can't, he will lose. McCain has to be VERY careful with his VP pick.

This is more the point I was trying to make.

images.icanhascheezburger.com

The guy drafted a law that the ACLU said went too far in protecting women. Not that the cheesecake brigade thinks with their brains or anything but that's going to sound pretty good to any undecided women, and Obama was quick to mention it.

/As a side note I actually got this far and typed in VACA VACA VACA when I realized I pulled the C out of my ass

Like they say at Hillaryis44, 4 years of McCain brings 8 years of Hillary.
Pissed off Hillarites will be voting Mccain this fall.

I'm not entirely sure most of the hardcore Hillary fanatics are worried about sperm coming in ccntact with their eggs, unless it's via turkey baster and petri-dish.
