You post a story from NRO, subby, and you expect people to take it seriously?

Go fark yourself.

Bravo, Admins.

Apparently, the NRO is the first outlet to get issued the talking points by the RNC.

FireBreathingLiberal: If yhat what NRO thinks I'm convinced that Biden was the perfect choice.

It's difficult to see how Obama can screw this election up. Short of him picking someone like Castro as a running mate, Obama is going to stomp all over McCain. Biden was a good choice, however, and I think it will only make the Obama ticket stronger.

I wonder how McCain is going to handle this?

Indeed. I could tell by the level of immediate invective that Obama chose somewhat wisely.

When the opposing campaign has an attack ad ready and airing before the major news networks have worked up a piece, you know you did something right.

Concerned Jonah Goldberg is concerned.

Just get used to it. If Obama transported Ronald Reagan here from 1984 and picked him, Jonah Goldberg and the rest of the noise machine would be fabricating outlandish, histrionic, overblown rationales explaining what a bad choice of running mate he is.

slobarnuts 2008-08-23 02:59:07 PM
I think jonah Goldberg has a secret crush on Obama.

This is his attempt at wooing Obama, hoping to impress him.

Lionel Mandrake: Jonah Goldberg hates it?

No, he's just a little, well, concerned.

As an objective observer who sometimes dabbles in political topics, he's offering us his perspective, based on his expert analysis of the complete record of unassailable facts, that perhaps the presumptive Democratic nominee might have made a wiser choice of running mate. If this were to make a person fearful, or uncertain, or doubtful, about the candidate's judgement and chances, well, alas, so be it.

Etchy333 [TotalFark] 2008-08-23 03:22:15 PM
It's strange. The Democrats continue to select the most liberal senator ever, in each election cycle.

In 2000, they picked the most liberal Democrat ever, Al Gore. And he picked Joe Lieberman, the most liberal senator ever.

Then in 2004, they picked the most liberal senator ever again, John Kerry. And he picked John Edwards as his VP choice, who as we all know, is the most liberal senator ever.

Now, Barack Obama, the most liberal senator ever, has picked Joe Biden, the most liberal senator ever. I tells ya, these Democrats just can't stop picking the most liberal senator ever to run for office.

I have a feeling Goldberg made a lot of use of the Search & Replace function in Word this morning.

Biden just has this "get off my lawn" look in his eye all the time. This was a good pick, because now people over 35 who don't have text messaging will consider voting for Obama.

Pretty much this.

Seriously, the right wing was going to say this about absolutely any running made Obama picked. Is there any possible choice where they might say "Wow, Obama really made a good pick. We're concerned," or even "Okay, he choice a running mate. Let's move on."

They're going to repeat that line from Biden about how the presidency isn't for on the job training and Obama isn't ready. and they're going to repeat it until they're blue in the face and everybody's ears are bleeding.

The only possible hope for McCain is to make this fight about the issues....but McCain's problem is that he's on the wrong side of every issue we've got. What's more is that he knows it. Quite the quandry for our elderly statesman.

I think McCain is going to go a little bonkers come October.

A bit understated, but that's about right.

I will say, however, that Biden was correct when he said that McCain would make a good President and that Obama is too inexperienced for the job.

The problem with McCain making this about issues is that there are numerous instances where he has reversed his positions on many of the major issues people care about: Torture, Roe v Wade, the Bush Tax Cuts, and so on. (clickity pop)

Biden already went after McCain a couple times in his speech today. With a few months of campaigning left to go, I can see Obama/Biden slamming McCain for every one of those should he try to bring them up.

I have the feeling that NRO had a "Obama screwed up!" story waiting for whoever he picked. They just had to go back and check the punctuation.

Same way he's handled the rest of the campaign, I suppose. Stay far, far away from policy, and embroil himself in petty sniping about "celebrity."

What was up with that joint appearance today?

Obama introduces Biden as the next PRESIDENT!! Even he now sees that the more experienced leader should be the President...

And then Biden introduces him as Barack AMERICA!!! WTF!!!

You could just see Obama cringe....as if to say, "Jesus...lnoy 10 minutes in and he's already gaffed!!!"

woops....

hope...change
