I've said this before but I'm convinced that at this point and really as of quite a while ago, he is just farking with us for his own amusement.

Gas prices were insanely rising since 2002. Why can't he just STFU and play golf until he's relieved in January? He reminds me of OJ who keeps talking to the press about finding the real killers. Just shut up and wait until you can go away and be forgotten.

Dancin_In_Anson [TotalFark] 2008-08-23 11:40:13 AM
Well, they said they would lower gas prices.

He vowed to stop playing golf because he started the war in Iraq. Now, he's bored and has nothing else to do but randomly blame the democrats for stuff.

President Bush on Saturday blamed the Democratic-led Congress for the high cost of gasoline and renewed his call for expanded offshore drilling to increase U.S. oil supplies.

"To reduce pressure on prices, we need to increase the supply of oil, especially oil produced here at home," Bush said in his weekly radio address.

too bad this never occurred to him when he had full control of the government.

Side point...
China went from a net exporter of oil to importing roughly twice Iraq's total oil production from the span of the first Gulf War to now. Throw in the other Asian economies that the U.S. is hyper accelerating and, you have some serious new oil consumption that makes Iraq look small in comparison.

It's shocking how much the DemocRAT party screwed up all the amazing things that Bush and the Republican Congress did in 6 years. All that drilling and increasing of refining capacity the glorious GOP accomplished in the golden years of 2001-2007, all shot to hell by those America-hating Demoncraps.

OK, granted.

As much as conservatives must be unhappy with the current spend-crazy administration, we liberal douches are frustrated by roll-over Democrats (like Nancy "impeachment is off the table" Pelosi and Barak "run to the middle" Obama). I swear I don't even recognize any effective liberals in government anymore.

Rockdrummer 2008-08-23 01:07:17 PM
Well, oil (and as a result gas) prices have gone up astronomically since ems took congress, Bush wants morte drilling but the tree hugger dems say no, and then they left on vacation. Yeah, looks like it's a dem problem to me.

Um, quite a few republicans were booted out in 06 and more still kept their seats by slimmer margins than usual. Sounds like the people found quite a bit wrong with their republican representatives.

Yeah, and if we drill for more oil won't HAVE to export it because we are almost at full refining capacity right now? Plus, if someone is gonna pay more somewhere else it's either going there or prices are going up here.

Yup, a gradual increase followed by a huge massive spike...when Nancy came to power.

Coincidence? Hmmm.

/actually yes, but I just like tweaking partisan noses who ignored correlation/causality when it served their purposes in many a thread.

Since a close relative of mine is an accountant for a big oil Texas company, I am getting a kick out of the concept of limited refining capacity. Less real than the honest politician, Easter Bunny, you pickone.

Dancin_In_Anson: Hey...the said they'd do it and they haven't done shiat.

GWB said : 'I would work with our friends in OPEC to convince them to open up the spigot, to increase the supply,' Mr. Bush, the presumptive Republican candidate for president, told reporters here today. 'Use the capital that my administration will earn, with the Kuwaitis or the Saudis, and convince them to open up the spigot.'

This was when campaigning in 2000. When Bush did ask them to "open the spigot" recently, the response was "DIAF."

But I'm sure that's the Democrats' fault as well.

Then why has the Left Side of the Aisle stymied every effort to build new refineries in the U.S. for over the past 30 years? More refineries would dramatically reduce gas/diesel prices... or didn't you know that?

They have stymied what little they could because we do not need any further refining capacity for domestic production. Oil wants more refineries so that they can sell more refined product overseas and place new refineries in their geographical selection to lower cost of transport. Not for you.
Production of domestic gas/diesel(same as heating oil-different color) was reduced last month due to oversupply.
