McCain is full of comedy gold. He practically writes their material for them.

Well, Fox News doesn't need to fret, The Daily Show makes fun of everyone on an equal basis.

Fox News should put on their OWN comedy show with a conservative bent. I'm certain such a show would be a smash hit full of laughs and hilarity ....

(wait....wut?)

Conservatives have no sense of humor. They think they do, but it's basically like that drunk girl at the party who thinks she's a good dancer.

Yes, but that drunk girl at the party is now in management at ExxonMobil and making $320K /year. She may be that pasty white girl who couldn't dance but that JD and Wharton MBA paid off pretty well.

When Conan interviewed McCain about a month ago he said that all the late-night comedians have got McCain with the age thing (although he said it's overused all ready) and that they haven't decided what feature to go after Obama. Personally I can't figure out anything that really stands out yet but I'm sure they'll come up with something.

Oh, they'll latch onto some mannerism, but he's a far cry from the retardedness of what we have now. Really, from a comedian's point of view Bush co. is a great source of material.

Nahh, that's a different girl. The one that thought she was funny while drunk dropped out after being knocked up by her boyfriend. The idiots in charge right now are the people that went to the party, got blitzed, puked all over themselves, and either conned the cop after being busted for DWI or had the rich parents sweep it under the rug.

Well, the McCain Campaign has surged to EVEN with Obama running the stupid "Celebrity/Messiah" ads, so why the hell are they complaining about the Late Night Comedians making the EXACT SAME POINTS they are making???

This campaign season has made me lose all faith in humanity.

It's just so damn easy to make fun of McCain...the guy acts like a buffoon every time he sticks his head outside. I'm sure they can make fun of Obama, it's just a lot more work. If it's easy, they should have had a blast with the 1/2 Hour News Hour. But all they could come up with was how his initials were BO...like body-odor. Get it?

Yeah I wonder what it will be. Conan asked McCain for a new mannerism since the age thing got old (no pun intended) very fast.

The Daily Show would be interesting with a Obama administration since we've only see Stewart really put forward in a Bush administration and I hope he will go equally after calling Obama's administration out. Ditto with McCain and I'm sure if McCain is president he would stop by at some point given how good of friends they are.

Meh, this was Laura Ingraham and even though I think she's kind of cute (could use some food though) she's more of a hack than Bill O. So I'm not surprised this hit while she was guest hosting.

I would have to say Fox's Red Eye is more conservative and comedic (Makes me laugh quite a bit). I find Dennis Miller rather funny too. Hell McCains made some pretty funny Self Depreciating jokes. Republicans have a sence of humor, you Dems are just too high to get the jokes :P

HIRSEN: But if the joke is told like Jay Leno did where he said that John McCain's energy program is taking three naps a day, well, that only cuts one direction. That cuts negatively. And if it's repeated enough - the recipient of the most jokes told about him is George W. Bush. And over the years, they've beaten George W. Bush's image based on the issue of his intellect. And obviously, it's been successful.

Oh, so people think W is stupid because Leno and Letterman keep repeating it. Really?

This guy talks about the MSM being out of touch, then shows how out of touch he is. Middle America believes Bush is retarded, because he is retarded.

Every time the late night comics make an Obama joke, they get flooded with hate mail from the Obamaniacs. So they've begun to self-censor the Obama jokes to avoid dealing with that headache.

I know this is going on from personal experience, so don't ask me to post proof from some crappy blog link to "prove it".

The trouble is that those types of "observational" comics don't "make" fun. They find it where it lays. And Obama just isn't very funny. He's dignified, smart, cool, self-assured and, frankly, sincere and Pollyanna-ish to the point of being dull.
Some of his more fanatical followers, of course, are comedy gold - but the man himself isn't funny. Same reason Ron Paul never got any traction among the late-nite comics. The man's followers may be a living zoo of hilarity, but Paul himself is a gray little man who uses a lot of big words nobody understands anymore. No funny, there.
Also, McCain is old - which places him in one of the few "minority" groups it is still permissible to stereotype and ridicule.
These late nite guys don't have any agenda - they get their money from the funny, and they point their rhetoric where the funny is.

Right. Because nobody in the media ever visits Fark every single day.

Hint: Fark is probably one of the most visited sites of those of us who work in the media, looking for material.

Reminds me of what Jon Stewart said when that moran Tucker Carlson asked him, back in 2004, "As a Kerry supporter, would it be harder to make fun of a President Kerry than President Bush?" to which he replied, "Well, if his administration is less absurd than this one, then yes, it will be harder."
