Problem 1: Being a POW doesn't have anything to do with his personal finances.

Problem 2: Normal people can't relate to being a POW, nor being as wealthy as McCain.

HA! You can't criticize John McCain, former prisoner of war, anymore! It's been played, there's no takebacks when someone's spent 5 and 1/2 years in a Vietnamese HELLHOLE!

By the way, if anyone knows where ex-POW John McCain is, tell him I found his house keys.

You know, good Americans know that it doesn't matter if you can't remember what car you drive or how many homes you have or if you left your first wife and kids for the younger politically connected chick with the money or was involved in a major league political corruption scandal a few years back. What matters is when a man spends 5 and half years in a Vietnamese hellhole for his country, he's better for our nation than some arugula chowing professor type who thinks he's all high and mighty.

Surprising, isn't it? He and his campaign are so sensitive to exploiting it that must people are unaware that former POW John McCain, who was a POW, was once a POW.

Someone needs to photoshop McCain as Captain America with his trusty POW shield, able to protect Captain McCain from any and all attack, and even using it as a weapon of its own.

I would love to stop mentioning how out of touch McCain is to people when I talk politics.

I would love to debate serious issues in serious ways.

But, sadly, that is not how campaigns are won anymore, so I will continue beating the drum and pushing this mantra: McCain, old and out of touch, is not suited for POTUS.

Hey guys, I heard a rumor once that John McCain was a prisoner of war at some point. I've been googling around but haven't been able to find anything yet. Anyone got a link?

How does someone who has 11 homes (or however many he has since he doesn't remember himself) effectively communicate to the average voter that he connects with their concerns?

There's a point there, somewhere. I watched as some obama pr chick got on cable news, and tried to claim mccain didn't know real hardship.

I actually would rather vote for a person who has had financial success, but apparently our Merican Prezident should be a beer swilling frat boy.

Did a McCain staffer really make fun of Obama for being a professor? Jesus. A constitutional law professor. I have no idea how THAT could come in handy.

He spent 5 and a half years in prison because he was a bad pilot.

But he made up for that lost time by ditching his DRAG of a wife with that hot young rich chick Cindy. I mean, Carol obviously couldn't satisfy him, what with being debilitated after her car accident. Who WOULDN'T cheat on then abandon their wife in his shoes, am I right fellas?

You know, i'm sorry her spent 5 1/2 years as a POW, but does that automatically give him the right to become president? It's one thing if he kept hawking "I was a POW" mantra if he had policies to back it up. But he doesn't. McCain's biggest policy was more offshore drilling.

He's even more out of reach with the public then Bush ever was.

I respect his service and his time as a POW, but there are thousands of ex-POWs out there. Why this is supposed to qualify him as for President is beyond me.

What is really amazing to me is the Republican turnaround on this. During the Primaries, I read some of the most disgraceful attacks on McSame coming from his fellow Rightwingers who openly scoffed at his service and joked that all he had done was crash a lot. I found myself defending him against other Republicans. Now he can do no wrong, POW POW POW.

What really amazes me is that he's done a total 180 since attacking Wesley Clark for pointing out the obvious. Back then, the McCain people were claiming (falsely) that they didn't use his service as a political crutch. Now, they're not even having pretenses about it.

HighOnCraic 2008-08-22 10:03:03 PM
Michael Franc of the conservative Heritage Foundation think tank said the dispute could damage McCain. "He may come across as detached from reality. How can he talk about strains on the family budget when he doesn't know how many homes he has?"

Non-story. Clearly the Heritage Foundation has a liberal bias.

/Plus, John McCain has never vacationed in Hawaii.
