You know, John McCain spent five and a half years of his life unable to play the POW card... in prison!

cameroncrazy1984 [TotalFark] 2008-08-22 11:04:42 AM
The insinuation that John McCain, a former POW, plays the former POW card, is ridiculous.

Very nice, but now we have to make a Magic: The Gathering-like version.

Someone with no life, please? We need this.

One doesn't "win" a purple heart.

Johnny One Note.

But the same would apply to anything you overuse. Not only will people tune out, but it rapidly loses all of its bearing when you apply it in increasingly irrelevant scenarios.

Right, they give them out at Republican conventions. They're free.

He's like Bob Dole.

Only more corrupt and partisan.

It's amazing to me that the retired general that runs Vets for Obama would be critical about John McCain. This is truly a shocking indictment.

GAT_00: Now with more POW!

The insinuation that John McCain, a former POW, is a former POW who plays the POW card to remind everyone that he was a POW is ridiculous. In fact, it is insulting to all former POWs including John McCain, a former POW.

/pow pow pow

I would pay money for someone to say, "Senator McCain: Did you allow the people who gave out purple heart bandaids at the last convention to plan YOUR convention?"

Yeah, isn't this guy aware that former POW John McCain, who was POW, was a POW?

Stupid commie Lt. General...

Given his rating with Veterans' organizations, that would sort of limit the pool...

whenever I hear about McCain using the POW excuse as to why he should be excused for doing something, I always get a mental image of a sheet with a hole in it.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the concept that it is considered to be an attribute for a potential president of the country to have been 1) shot down in the plane he was flying (in an idiotic war that we never should have engaged in and lost), 2) was held captive for over five years and ratted out his fellow soldiers after being tortured, and 3) was basically a brain dead zombie after he was rescued and had to be re-programmed for a year before he could function.

This, to me, is not a recipe for a stable personality to lead a country.

/I'm guessing its the 3rd dumbest in his naval academy class of 490 that has caught the imagination of the voters, though.

Cause and Effect? Gen Gard, (who has two wars under his belt Vietnam and Korea) may be an Obama supporter precisely because of his disenchantment with McCain's condict

Wonder if anyone at NRO, Free Republic, LGF or Red State can make that claim?

How dare you disrespect the sacrifices of the 101st Fighting Republican Keyboard Battalion and the 102nd Conservative Internet Tough Guy Brigade.

They've SEEN THINGS, man. Things that...things that you can't even imagine.

True. But what happens in the bus station, stays in the bus station.
