Forget a reunion.

Perry and Slash doing Mountain Song and Jane Says @ Lollapalooza kicked more ass than a reunion.

He's still got the voice, amazing.

They'll be singing a different tune once they get a touch of grey.

Uhm, that quote isn't Perry's.
FTA: Bassist Eric Avery was never keen on a reunion either, saying at the time "I have always considered reunions to be a way to make a quick buck, and it sells short my own experience of it the first time around. The reason I started to even consider this is because it's honoring the past instead of trying to recreate it."

Explains why he didn't perform on "Strays" or the 'reunion' tour that proceeded that record.

Still, they were a great band.

This quote will be great to bring up in a couple years when they reunite.

I guess there's no "hypocrite" or "short term memory" tag since he's done this more than once already.

I don't really give a shiat about Jane's Addiction but I respect the rejection of the "reunion" bullshiat. Of course rock 'n roll is all about money and pussy. i realize that, I'm not that stupid. But initially there is sometimes an actual passion for the music and a camaraderie among the group. Reunion tours are a perversion of that.

Five guys who lived in a one room apartment off Sunset Blvd, playing shiat clubs, who finally make it and 5 years later hate each other and allow their egos to break them apart, triumphantly return 20 years later to play their same old shiat that they no longer feel no emotion for or even remember what inspired them to write it in the first place, just for a paycheck.

fark all that.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but I don't think anyone asked for them to reunite.

dadio86 2008-08-20 03:57:02 PM
they've already reunited 15 times. How much of a career can one person build on one crappy song about a crappy hooker?

Another reason: Strays blew goats.

Say what you want about crazy ol' Perry...I enjoyed the fark out of Lollapalooza this year. What I remember of it, anyway.

NorCalLos 2008-08-20 04:35:45 PM
This whole thing is funny considering I saw Perry's "new band" Satellite Party less than a year ago and they played 1/3 Jane's songs and 1/3 Porno For Pyros songs. Also, this:

The reasons the Jane's reunions always end are always the same. Everybody else is sick of Perry.

FTFY

He's almost as bad as Anthony Kiedes.

Top five worst vocalists evar:

1) Anthony Kiedes
2) Anthony Kiedes
3) Anthony Kiedes
4) Anthony Kiedes
5) Perry Farrell

/Saw them years ago prior to the first Warners release, and they were okay.
//Porno for Pyros was just plain bad

I'm no RHCP fan, but check out Stadium Arcadium. His singing is excellent, and the backup vocals are really nice too. Great album, especially considering how long they've been around. Most artists only get worse as they get older.

First time I ever took acid was at Nothing Shocking tour, St. Andrews, Detroit. Perry was like a farking alien.

Does Pro Tools get a mention in the credits?

I think he should be given a pass since his drug riddled brain doesn't remember any of those times.

/Looking forward to Jane Tour 2009!

I am an RHCP fan, but I don't get why everyone says his vocals are better on Stadium Arcadium. I have the album and I can count on one hand the number of times I've listened to the whole thing. I can count on two hands the number times I've listened to any of it. The most entertaining part of the album was the "making of" stuff that was included in the itunes version.

Anthony's best vocal melodies were on Blood Sugar Sex Magik, One Hot Minute, and Californication.

Has anybody noticed that it wasn't Perry that said:

"I have always considered reunions to be a way to make a quick buck, and it sells short my own experience of it the first time around"

...but actually Eric Avery?
