Although I dig the song, the phrase "think..." is farking annoying as hell.

The lead singer of TVOTR is cooler than I will ever hope to be.

AKA: Biggie Shorty meets Long Duk Dong.

Nice work

This seems like a good time to put in a plug for Toby Barlow's book "Sharp Teeth", about a modern-day werewolf (though they prefer the term "lycanthrope") clan, and the dogcatcher who finds himself drawn into it. Great stuff.

It's written in verse, so you have to get used to that, but it's still awesome as an awesome thing.

One of my favorite bands- good job subby!

"Return to Cookie Mountain" is a seriously weird album, but I can't help going back to it over and over. It really grows on you

That said, don't buy it expecting it to all sound like this....it really doesn't

i know i shouldn't come to fark with expectations of new information, least of all from the music tab, but this album came out 2 years ago.

also, if you like TVOTR, i highly recommend downloading their itunes live session.

I fell in love with this band when I first heard 'em.

"Young Liars" grabbed me first.

I like this. And I'm a picky bastard when it comes to music.

Oh, and I highly recommend catching these guys live. They're touring this fall with The Dirtbombs (another GREAT band) opening. First Avenue Oct. 20th & 21st FTW.

it's a strong, driving rocker. just for the sake of discussion, what would you recommend as an alternative?

Seconded. Saw TVOTR when they opened up for NIN & Bauhaus. They damn near stole the show, and none of us had ever even heard of them before.

They're doing 3 shows in Brooklyn at the Masonic Temple:

Oct 14 with The Dirtbombs
Oct 15 with Telepath
Oct 16 with Dragons of Zynth

I like hearing new music that is obviously well thought out.
No stunts or gimmicks or image posturing on this one it seems.
(unless originality is considered "gimmick" now)

I found the vocals out of place but I liked that about this.
Most songs with a driving riff fueled beat usually have some clown shrieking and trying too hard to sing "heavy" and tough.

The sudden tempo change in the middle was very cool too.

Thirded. I saw them back when I was just getting in to them as a band, and they blew my freaking socks off. To this day I number them in the top 5 live shows I've seen.

Isn't that the singer from the Fine Young Cannibles?
