Aw, sad indeed. I saw The Spinners a few years ago and they still sounded great. Pervis was in good form and his trademark, "12:45" was amazing.

RIP, Pervis.

Not sure which ones Pervis wrote/sang, but The Spinners have some good tunes:

"Rubber Band Man"
"It's a Shame"
"I'll be Around"
"Games People Play"
"Working My Way Back to You"
"Cupid"
"Could it be I'm Falling in Love"

Yep. They also had a big hit with Dione Warwick, but I don't remember the name. You couldn't turn on the radio in the mid 70's and not hear a Spinners tune.

/Lawn. Off.

Pervis was the bass vocalist of The Spinners if I recall correctly.

Most of the leads were handled by Bobby Smith and Fillipe Wynne (RIP).

The song with Dionne Warwick was "Then Came You".

I got to introduce a Spinners show many years ago, and even when they were just warming up backstage and fooling around killing time it sounded tremendous. If you get a chance to see one of the few remaining old-school soul acts like the Spinners, GO.

is inconsolable.

In all seriousness - thanks for some great music. Good night, soul man.

I was just listening to the Spinners yesterday. Disappointing loss.

As I recall, the Spinners had some slick moves. Good stuff.

RIP Pervis

That(^) was a great commercial, although I originally thought it was for Staples.

Aw fark. Another good one goes to the big jam in the sky. Used to play lots of Spinners in a cover band in the 70s.

/off my lawn, etc
