The photo accompanying the story is priceless. He actually looks like he's just had to crap out 50 million dollars.

He should have known this was in the air tonight, maybe he just don't care anymore.

/I'll just let myself out.

The costly settlement is not the first for Collins, who gave his second wife Jill Tavelman £17 million after he finished their relationship by fax in 1994.

Did he break up with his latest wife by text message?

Now, I bet he'll write a song about her? and say that he saw her watching someone drowning and not save them? and then he'll invite her to a concert? and he'll put a spotlight on her while he sings that song? and then she'lll, like, commit suicide or some sh*t.

There must be some misunderstanding

I think I've heard "Easy Lover" every time I've ever been at the supermarket.

And "Higher Love" by Steve Winwood at the dentist.

There was something about her. Something you just can't trust, something mysterious...

No matter how you look at it, he got himself in too deep.

Excellent news!

A $53 million divorce settlement has got to be considerably bigger than his chunk of the $129 million Genesis '07 tour revenue, and therefore...hmm. If only there were a way for a tremendously succesful musician with long-standing professional relationships to call upon his associates in a time of need.

If only.

Come on man! A paid assasin has to be cheaper than that.

That's crazy man!

In all fairness, give the man credit for retiring and staying retired

And remind me again why I should get married?

Hopefully this will give Phil extra incentive to try and convince Gabriel to do an original-lineup Genesis tour.

Steve Hackett also recently got divorced, so that's two of them who need the money. Pete might be short on cash, too, what with all that traveling he does with Mandela and the Elders - the guy without the Nobel has to buy the coffee and donuts.

Genesis went down the toilet after "Trick Of The Tail."

Phil, Phil, Phil...haven't you figured out by now that marriage is a "Dance On A Volcano?" You become "Entangled" and then "Squonk" when divorce court feels like "Robbery, Assault And Battery."

"Los Endos."

THIS. When he was happily married to his youthful bride, he released the worst music of his entire career, bar none. Now that he's miserable again, he can beg Peter to hook a brotha up.
