I wish McCain could pick all three (including Lieberman) as VP, like a wedding that has too many best men.

Maybe they should have make up sex...

I'm afraid they may have just uncovered another non-existent feud.

Romney as VP? Probably.
Huckabee? Seriously doubt it.

One problem with that logic: Romney and Huckabee are not the top two contenders for VP. And that still doesn't make Hillary any less of a biotch.

jjorsett 2008-08-17 01:28:09 PM
It's going to be Joe Lieberman anyway. McCain won't be able to resist flipping off his party one more time.

If Lieberman ends up being the VP nomninee, he can say goodbye to all his seniority in the 111th Congress next year when he loses.

Trap-Door Spider: FTFA: Reports of strife between negotiators for Sen. Hillary Clinton and Sen. Barack Obama are exaggerated and the two sides are nearing an agreement on how Clinton's delegates will participate in the formal nominating process at the Democratic National Convention, according to advisers to both Democrats.

Obama is giving the shocker. Somehow, that's appropriate.

a lot of people have acknowledged the VP may at some point be the president if mccain wins

and the top two choices are a corporate slickster and a "values voter" slickster

great

Lieberman's already lost it, that's why he's trashing Obama so openly. When Dems gain 6-8 seats in November, Lieberman will be tossed away quicker than a soiled diaper; his only chance of not being political refuse is hitching his wagon to the Pancakes Express.

Wouldn't be the first time a presidential candidate picked a running mate he hated.

I'm hoping for Romney. It'll be fun to hear him calling Obama an elitist.

Well, the "elitist" charge has stuck on Obama when McCain has been using it. I don't think Romney using it would be any different.

Alphax 2008-08-17 01:46:43 PM
McCain.. Romney.. Huckabee..

3 men whom I wouldn't vote for under ANY circumstances.

That would be quite a way to give evangelicals the finger after pandering last night about how pro-life he is.

The only reason he has it now is because who he caucuses with establishes the majority in the Senate. When Dems pick up additional seats this November, Lieberman will be treated like a leper with bad breath, McCain veep or not.

In what universe is Mike Huckabee a top two contender for VP?

Churchill2004 [TotalFark] 2008-08-17 02:19:32 PM
Meh. Romney and Huckabee are both just different incarnations of the big-government Republicans that have done everything in their power to kill the last vestiges of the GOP as the party of limited government (which was largely just a superficial thing any way). What they haven't realized yet is that they can't win without that libertarian-leaning voting bloc.

The Ridge-Huckabee thing is old and the only reason anyone would try to project it as new is to try and get some of the media heat off of Obama sinking.

Lotsa luck.

Since when has that ever mattered? You pick the person who is strong in areas where you are not to give the appearance of strong leadership. Even though the VP has about as much input into policy as a dog catcher from Boise.

Tenebreux 2008-08-17 03:02:13 PM
I'm hoping McCain says nothing till the convention, then it all unfolds like something out of the WWE. McCain calls Huckabee down, shakes his hand, Lieberman runs down, hits Huckabee with a folding chair, McCain does nothing, Romney appears on the big screen, reveals that Lieberman is working for him, and that it's going to be a McCain Romney ticket with Lieberman as 'Enforcer'.

And then..

"IF YOU SMELLLLLLLLLL WHAT BARACK IS COOKING"

And the crowd goes nuts.

Non-existent feud, Subby? Hillary would put a shiv into Obama's back in a second. She would hire someone to shoot him from the window of the Book Depository. She would have his plane shot down. She would poison his food. And she would deny, deny, deny that she had anything to do with it and take her Godly anointed place as President before he was even legally dead.

Eh, Romney and Huckabee are hardly the top contenders. That being said, I REALLY hope Romney doesn't get it.
