17 Cherry tomatoes and tofu

18 Cooked couscous

I know it sounds gay, but add a bit of mozzarella and/or cheddar, plus gin. (eat the tofu and couscous, drink the gin).

It's wonderful.

Good recipes - from Britain!

The real miracle is that the British ever contemplate a picnic with the crappy weather...

Bittman's not actually British, and this list was originally published in the NY Times.

Still, kickass.

Those both sound good. My suggestion would be to substitute beef for the tofu and beef for the couscous. Now yer talkin

They're doing it wrong:

1 recipe, 1 page, 100 page hits per 'article'

mungo: Good recipes - from Britain!

Actually, due to the Ordinance survey maps and the tight land management, Britain has some of the most accessible , fantastic picnicking landscape you'll ever see.

T-Servo: What was Cole's Law again?

We learned that in the same class as Einstein's fear of relatives.

How about sharp cheddar cheese, smoked bluefish, mustard on a french roll?

I like to pavk that and Baklava for dessert.

Helps to bring a dates, too. The article seems to leave out the sine qua non of a picnic.

It's in the salad section in the shops, I think it also goes by the name of Arugula.

That page is far too readable. They really need to separate it into 101 separate pages, with a little arrow to flip between them one at a time.

they call these recipes? seriously?for example:

43 Potato Salad
Add cooked asparagus, peas, green beans, mustard vinaigrette. Or steamed mussels.
if i didn't know how to make potato salad, that wouldn't be very helpful. recipe my ass

Original name for Arugula.

/hmm, Firefox refuses to recognize "arugula" as a word

102

Kicked Up Hummus Dip

1 (15-oz) can Chick Peas (Garbanzo Beans), drained
4 Tbsp lemon juice
2 Tbsp lime juice
2 Tbsp olive oil
2 Tbsp Tahini paste
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 tsp sesame oil
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp ground coriander
dash cayenne pepper
salt and ground black pepper to taste

Place ingredients in food processor, blend until smooth.

UpsideDown:

Deviled Eggs:
6 hard boiled eggs
3 Tbsp mayo
1/2 tsp ground dry mustard
1/8 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
Sprinkle of paprika

Now that's a recipe. Just listing ingredients without any sense of measure is a good way to NOT make the same dish again.
