Wouldn't any NRO neocon love to jack a couple of SUV's from some bleeding-heart internationalist UN bureaucrats?

I'm not a NRO Neocon but I'd be up for spanking some bleeding-heart internationalist UN bureaucrats just for the hell of it. In fact, we can bulldoze the UN into the sea and I'd be fine with that.

russian troops are just as drunke and undisciplined as they were in the 1980s when they sold their tanks for hash in afghanistan and lots of fighters couldn't take off because their crew drank the deicing fluid.

So people put themselves in harms way not for personal or national gain but simply to help people in the cause of peace, and you want to "spank" them?

If asked who is a more moral, valuable and overall more worthwhile human being, I'm going for the "bleeding heart" person over people like yourself.

Another of the many reasons Russia's military is sub-par. The only weapon they have that can effectively repel a full scale invasion by more disciplined and equally or better equipped forces is winter.

Suuure. You're an "independent", right? People who hate the UN (as opposed to those who criticize how it's run) are usually neo-cons, who don't appreciate any multinational org that can complain about America's thundercock-waving manifest destiny. I bet you don't like Amnesty International either.

Exactly.

People have always warned against attacking Russia not because of it's strong and effective fighting force but because Russian winters coupled with Russian leaders who are willing to throw away the lives of "peasants".

I hate the UN, but because of their "neutral, peacekeeper" nature. shiat like Darfur, Rwanda, etc. should never happen. I'm looking for a UN with teeth, with the power of the US military but with some common sense about where they belong (people being slaughtered? check. going for oil reserves? no)

They pulled the same stunt on a CBC news crew. The cameras were rolling as a Russian officer waved his pistol in the air and straight up demanded the car keys from the driver. Then he starts waving the pistol at the cameraman who takes off running with the rest of the media in the area. That's a pretty farked up way to run a military.

No, I want a unilateral force that can step in to stop the slaughter of innocent people, no matter the nation. Russia, southern Africa, Germany, the USA, I care not. For god sakes man, this is the 21st century. People should not have to fear being slaughtered, raped and pillaged, etc.

You know who's to blame for the UN having no teeth? Hmm, I wonder if the Security Council veto has anything to do with it. So the US, and China, and Russia, and all the other SC members who veto any attempt to thwart their nasty schemes, are to blame.

Who's been stirring up the world's shiat lately?
Balkans - Russia
Middle East - the USA
Darfur and Zimbabwe - China
Rwanda - France

However, in spite of this, the UNHCR, OXFAM, UNICEF and many other UN departments are working every day to try and make the lives of the world's most wretched, needy people a little bit better. That's hardly as glamorous as sending in the cavalry but it's what they do best.

Okay, so where is this mysterious unilateral force going to come from without starting a world war? The Russians didn't just invade for fun. It's to hold onto Russia's grip over European oil pipelines. This is an economic struggle that involves bullets.

As for Tony Stark? There is no such thing as an arms dealer with a moral compass, that's why he's poorly written fiction.

Yes! The local yokels can and should accept the initial blame, but the escalations usually end up coming from somewhere else. Kinda like the Spanish Civil War.

The problem with "bleeding hearts" is that they're a lot like the meek. It's not too hard to jack their shiat and toss them in with the rest of the needy.

Pretty easy to do when they mindlessly focus on rushing to the guy bleeding on the ground while paying zero attention to the guy who shot him.

Because to shlubs like GaryPDX (who knows that arbitrary lines on a globe with a layer of life thinner then the skin on an apple are the ultimate authority on the movers and shakers of humanity) the idea of global equality would send him screaming in terror into the night.

What a cowardly biatch. Beer is cheap to brew, electricity could be meaningless to produce, but the profit motive, which has only been in existence for a fraction of the history of humanity, must clearly rule us all.

Russia is barely a cohesive country. If it wasn't for the boot of communism, it never would have lasted as long as it did. Now, a new boot is being tried on for size.

Most of the Russians I have met are slightly nicer than pit- fighting dogs, so this doesn't surprise me.
