Keep "In God we Trust" on the Amurkan dollar and come up with a new American currency for the rest of us. Those who cling to the old notes will eventually fade away and the whole problem is solved.

Since it's to be on opur money, how's about "In laissez faire we trust," or "In the free market we trust," or, "In supply and demand we trust, or "In the trickle down economy we trust?"

All equally valid, which is to say, not at all.

AS a side note, the choices in the survey were:
Should the motto "In God We Trust" be removed from U.S. currency? * 683602 responses
Yes. It's a violation of the principle of separation of church and state.
49%
No. The motto has historical and patriotic significance and does nothing to establish a state religion.
51%

The choices should have been, "Yes" or "No", there are other reasons for each answer. I'm just curious if anyone/how many would choose something like "Yes, we really do trust in god as a country."

The government should sell advertising space on money. Seriously. Apply the revenue directly toward the national debt.

I can't imagine what difference removing it would make. Will people spend less money because it isn't trusted by God?

Sun God: I can't imagine what difference removing it would make. Will people spend less money because it isn't trusted by God?

The only difference it will make will be millions of fundies going "I'm being oppressed by God not being on my nickles!".

Anyone else shocked that the poll was around 50/50? I would have thought it would have been around 70/30 in favor of keeping it on the money (even not being a Fox News poll).

If that is anywhere close to accurate, maybe in another 20-25 years the populus will be around 65-70% in favor of removing it, and it might happen.
