we just needs some anti Obama emails to make this true, that's all.

The big deal is that he could be in charge of the world's largest empire. He scares the hell out of me.

It was nearly 30 years ago, people. This doesn't matter one little bit.

Bringing this kind of crap up makes obama supporters look like republicans.

Oh sure, the LIBERAL court system records prove something McCain said was wrong.

Notice how Obama NEVER gets caught in these kinds of lies.

There can be only one explanation: Reality is biased against McCain.

So, either senility or lying runs in the family.

When John McCain was 44 years old.

I think it should be a requirement that a sitting President remembers court cases he was involved in when he was 44.

/ok. that last one is a bit unfair

I bet Obama remembers a lot of things from when he was 44.

Who the fark cares about what John McCain did 30 years ago. Just because he cheated on his wife and lied about lawsuits that are a matter of public record doesn't make him a cheater or a liar.

Bush was a cokehead 30 years ago and that doesn't seem to have had any negative effects on his presidency.

jcooli09 2008-08-16 11:01:49 AM
OK, OK, I get it, McCAin is a liar and forgetfull. It was pretty crappy for his mother to sue his ex-wife, and he sued someone and either forgot or lied about it. Yeah, it'll be awfull if we elect him, but it was awfull that we elected bush (maybe) and awfull things happen.

This isn't the most important reason to oppose McCain, not even in the top ten.

That made him a better president. It gave him the ability to "look into Putin's soul" and realize he was a good dude. Someone who would never attack a neighboring nation.

You leave the important legal shiat to subordinates? Still doesn't bode well for potential President.

It saddens me when Conservatives, who tout responsibility don't actually take any for their own actions. The buck stops with the President. You want to be President, you own your own shiat. You stand up for it.

McCain supoorters are going to need a hell of alot more than him lying to shake their support at this point. The cocksucker has been lying his ass off/changing his story for months on just about everything. It's become so commonplace it's hardly newsworthy.

But he was a POW, so it's cool. He's all heroic and shiat and puts his country first, unlike Obama.

Lawnchair 2008-08-16 01:20:55 PM
Not just a lawsuit, one where he was seeking a million dollars in punitive damages, over fair market value.

Now, I know it's just pocket change to a McCain, but I'd remember a suit where I was seeking a million dollars.

Cue the "frivolous lawsuit"-hating Repubs. Crickets in 3.. 2.. 1..

the story is two-fold:

one, the divorce, a sore personal spot that he'd prefer to whitewash, wasn't as perfectly amicable as he lets on. now this doesn't matter to me, but there are people who it would probably matter to. minor story, but there it is.

two, he has a ridiculous penchant for lying and slipping into aggressive denial. when presented with evidence counter to what he thinks, he doesn't just dismiss it, he pretends it doesn't even exist. this is a major problem for someone running for president. this is the type of character flaw that leads us to war on, say, faulty evidence.

Most of them are lawyers. They went to college for 8 years to perfect the ability to lie. Most of them can probably beat lie detectors.

"I have never heard of what you're talking about. ... I will put my hand on a Bible," she said, to attest that she had never sued Carol."

When I read the headline, I assumed McCain had received an insurance settlement for something, and the insurance company had sued someone under their name (a common practice as juries tend to disfavor insurance companies and the plaintiff having insurance rarely indemnifies the defendant). In which case McCain not remembering would be understandable.

This? Not so much.

Easy. They tripped and fell all the way to their lawyers' offices, where they had some muscle spasms in the tongue and vocal cords that sounded like, "Sue the shiat out of my ex-wife," then as they were holding a pen, a gust of wind blew the papers onto their desk, another muscle spasm made them sign their names on the papers, and another gust of wind sent the signed papers back to their lawyers.

I mean, duh.

Could you imagine McCain taking a lie detector?

"What do you mean the needle moved? I never lie. You haven't asked me anything yet. I don't care if it's going crazy, these new fangled needles are just twitchier than ones in my day. I never said that. Well the tape's wrong. It's 'pictureshopped'. I am not just making words up! I know about the internets! You got this tape from Obama! He's always playing the race card! What are you talking about, you're the one that brought Obama up! I'm sick of arguing with you about this, let's just start the test."

All the while the lie detector itself is buzzing and shouting "Danger! Danger!"

Either way its bad. I don't give a rats behind that he sued someone, or that his Mom sued his ex-wife. Its that A. He doesn't remember or B. He's lying.

Both are bad. Maybe its just me but I want a president who's detail oriented. Not one who forgets his Mom attempted to sue his ex-wife over a pair of earings unless they have a real memory problem.

Or he's lying. And while I understand all politicians lie it would be better if they weren't so baldfaced about it. What they're really saying when they do that is 'Fark You Citizens'.

Losing it? Lost long ago.

B-b-b-b-b-b-ut Vietnam!!!

Oh come of it. The man's a politician, not a war hero. He might've once been a war hero, but now he's a politician, a pandering low-life lobby fueled politician who just happens to be very very old and losing his mind. It's clear why voters support Barack, if not for change, then at least for sanity and clarity of thought and the youthful exuberance, something this country very badly needs right now. Boomers, you had your chance, move over.

No...you lock your keys in the car unintentionally...you leave the stove on unintentionally...you leave the milk out of the refrigerator unintentionally.

Filing lawsuits is quite intentional.

And so is lying about it.
