Yeah, Don, you were THAT popular in the 80s.

You can't write, can't sing...

I actually love Don Dokken; always liked his singing. Glad he got better and is enjoying life.

Yeah, I read that and threw up a little. Stopped reading right there.

I enjoyed that interview.

I saw Dokken about 2 years ago and was worried they would suck without Lynch. Jon Levin farking destroyed the house with his guitar and really ended up being the star of the whole show.

Saw Poison 2 weeks ago with Dokken and Sebastian Bach. I was disappointed with Dokken, his voice just wasn't strong enough for a couple of the songs. Sebastian easily blew everyone else off stage though, wish he could have played longer than the 35 minutes or so he got.

You know what? Y'all can hate and all that, that is apparently why FARK was created. But back in the day Dokken rocked. They weren't the greatest band even at their peak, but "Beast From The East" is and was a great album. So listen to your shiatty angst crap and hate your parents and feel entitled, we didn't wear our jeans around our frikken thighs and we would have kicked your azzes.

And, BTW, GOML.

I saw Dokken back in the day (1987) he had one decent song and was a complete jerk. Dokken opened for Aerosmith and while Joe Perry was doing a guitar solo Don Dokken came out to watch and was standing within 10 feet of my section. Bunch o'females tried to talk to him and he just brushed them off with a shiatty look, would even say a word.

Does Don have his own 'Dojo' yet?

Sensei Don says: "Remember students, you don't have to hit your high notes during a show. The guys in the audience will be too drunk to care and the chicks will be looking at your crank."

Endzone108: Sebastian easily blew everyone else

I don't doubt it for a minute.

FTA:
Dokken: I mean, you got a song like "Unskinny Bop" and songs like that...

KNAC.COM: I hate that song. When I hear it I want to do a drive-by shooting.

I laughed pretty hard at that---great interview.

Saw Dokken a few times in the 80's and they killed. Great band. It banged and it had hooks. Lynch shredded all over it.

Don Dokken is right when he says they shouldn't be grouped with the Poisons and Warrants musically, but he was the one that decided to put on the Hollywood hair band outfits. He knows he farked up there, too.

Dream Warriors.

That is all.

I just never got Dokken. He was supposed to be some incredible vocalist, but all I ever heard was a guy with a really bland voice that would scream a falsetto note every once in a while.

SuperCatBarf [TotalFark] 2008-08-16 05:27:10 PM
My first concert was Dokken opening for Krokus.

Whatthefark 2008-08-16 08:54:33 PM
George Lynch made Dokken. Yeah the band used Don's name, but as far as I was concerned he was the weakest one in hte group.

Let's see...

Don Dokken: Good singer, not great, but actually sings live the way it is on the album unlike other singers who can only belt it out on tape

George Lynch: Probably in the top 10 guitarists, good songwriter

Jeff Pilson: Average bass player, better songwriter, can actually harmonize the background vocals (anyone in a band can tell you how hard that is to find), one of the best stage performers out there

Mick Brown: eh, average drummer

The sum of the parts adds up too, definitely an underrated band

Holy shiat. Is that Steve Vai with DLR?!

I think I blocked that from my memory as a teen.
