I love that the best picture that they could find was one of Tyler playing Guitar Hero.

One of his younger daughters went to grammar school in the same school my gf went to for high school (Marymount in Manhattan). One time I saw him going into a PTA meeting. He showed up in leather pants and the teacher was a nun. What an awesome image that was.

Nah. If he'd written this article, it would sound exactly like every other article he'd already written.

I'm a huge hard rock fan. Aerosmith, Van Halen, Ozzy, Motley Crue (yes, Motley Crue) and especially Guns n Roses. But I get it. You did a lot of drugs and farked a lot of girls. I didn't do too bad myself, despite not being a rock star but do you see me writing it all down (although there was this one time at the Viper Room in Hollywood)... anyway, good for you, Aerosmith. None of that changes the fact that you star in the video we have to watch while waiting in line for your roller coaster at Disney MGM studios.

"So there I am, in Sri Lanka, formerly Ceylon, at about 3 o'clock in the morning, looking for one thousand brown M&Ms to fill a brandy glass, or Ozzy wouldn't go on stage that night. So, Jeff Beck pops his head 'round the door, and mentions there's a little sweets shop on the edge of town. So - we go. And - it's closed. So there's me, and Keith Moon, and David Crosby, breaking into that little sweets shop, eh. Well, instead of a guard dog, they've got this bloody great big Bengal tiger. I managed to take out the tiger with a can of mace, but the shopowner and his son... that's a different story altogether. I had to beat them to death with their own shoes. Nasty business, really. But, sure enough, I got the M&Ms, and Ozzy went on stage and did a great show."

Steven Tyler and Gene Simmons remind me of each other in this regard: they both seem sure that if they were, say, insurance agents rather than obscenely rich rock stars, they'd still get as much trim as they do now.

/no way

That picture encompasses everything about the current state of Dinosaur Rock. The old man is only relevant via that toy guitar in his hand.

I'd say it's a shame but Aerosmith are not near the top of my list.

I was a huge fan in the 70's when they really rocked.

One of the best Rock stories is Warren Zevon's.'Sleep When I'm Dead' Biography. It would make a great film, but I guess you have to die a little younger or sell a ton of albums to be interesting in this country - that's a shame. . .
