One of two options here:

1. Either one of the stupidest and most clueless lawyers ever.
2. A 'typical' lawyer, lying through their teeth.

Yeah, right, like they'd use their own teeth.

And afterwards did the lawyer grab his winnings from the crap table?

The ABAJournal site takes forever to load, so I haven't RTFA, but here is something to consider:

Did the lawyer say *when* he was shocked to hear of the affair?

It's possible he was shocked when he first heard the news, then got over it and went about his business (such as paying someone's rent).

Lawyers don't lie, they just "manipulate" the facts that are given to them.

Came in here for the rotating shocker pic, where is it?

FrancoFile 2008-08-15 12:29:13 PM
TFA loads fine for me. It's a gigantic incestuous lawyer-fest. Everyone and their father (literally!) was involved in asbestos litigation or insurance scams, suing former partners, marrying other attorneys, etc.

Nuke the site from orbit, kill it with fire, etc. etc.

Farkie von Farkenstiel 2008-08-15 12:30:11 PM
Was it paid for by The Law Offices of Dewey, Cheatham, and Howe?

Next thing you know, he'll be shocked, shocked to find out the money paid to Edward's mistress was really hush money, not rent.

Um...sure. McCain's got it in the bag...in some parallel universe where Edwards is the presumptive Democratic nominee instead of Obama.

Yep. In that universe McCain's got it in the bag! In this one, meh...not quite yet.

FTA:

And the Ocala Star Banner reported this week that Hunter's father was a Florida lawyer implicated in a scam to kill horses for insurance money. The first horse reportedly killed belonged to Hunter, who was then a teen-ager known as Lisa Jo Druck.

WTF?

Just more of the same.

Corrupt politicians.. and corrupt lawyers.

They go hand in hand.

There is no stopping the downhill slide of American corruption.

There seems to be some confusion. The Andrew Young who claims paternity is not that Andrew Young. Not the former congressman, mayor and UN Ambassador. Different, paler Andrew Young.

No, no I was just sayin' that it would be a hoot if everyone made such a big deal about all of this politician/mistress nonsense and a little, black baby popped out; fathered by some car lot attendant. Then I couldn't wait to see her tubby sisters tell ET what a scumbag Edwards is and she was just consoling herself after Edwards broke her heart.

I work and I sleep and I dance and I'm dead: This is Fred Baron. One of the dirtiest lawyers ever, and that's sayin' somthin'.

He and his firm are the lyinist mass and toxic tort lawyers on the planet.

Back when I was wondering whether to support Edwards or Obama, when I found out that Baron was involved with Edwards, that made the decision for me. He's as dirty as they come.

Baron & Budd firm earned $800 million on asbestos litigation alone.

That is a lot of money.
