Great. This way, he can "report for duty" and be spineless about the war for the third time.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO a thousand times NO.

Please, god, let Obama and those advising him be smarter than this. I can't vote for an Obama-Kerry ticket, just like I can't vote for an Obama-Clinton ticket or an Obama-Edwards ticket.

I REALLY want to be able to vote for you in November, Mr. Obama. Please be smart about your VP choice.

PLEASE, YES!!1!

PLEASE YES YES YES!

/pretty sure it won't be Kerry. My money's on Richardson.

borg [TotalFark] 2008-08-15 09:42:13 AM
Not likely with Teddy on death watch Kerry wants to be the senior senator from Massachusetts I think he would turn it down. Plus having Kerry on the ticket does not help Sen. Obama at all.

Angry Drunk Bureaucrat [TotalFark] 2008-08-15 09:43:26 AM
Nah. Not with the Senate so close.

Bufu: pretty sure it won't be Kerry. My money's on Richardson.

I would love this, but I just can't see a ticket with a black man and a Latino going very far. Much as I hate to say it, I think Obama needs a white man to reassure the people out there who are thinking about voting for him but have a problem with voting for a black man (and you're a fool if you don't think there's a lot of these voters out there).

Political suicide.

VelcroFez [TotalFark] 2008-08-15 10:50:22 AM
This is a total red herring, of course. Obama needs to pick a governor or a former governor or anyone with no ties to the Senate at all.

AzDownboy [TotalFark] 2008-08-15 10:57:22 AM
Regardless of what you think of his politics, Obama is a smart guy

I'm 100% sure this story is crap

GAT_00 [TotalFark] 2008-08-15 11:01:35 AM
Oh come on. Obama can't be that stupid, and if he is then he's going to lose a hell of a lot of votes. Remember, the VP can only hurt you, and Kerry could hurt a lot.

what_now [TotalFark] 2008-08-15 11:07:08 AM
This is an excellent idea. This will net Obama the swing state of Massachusettes, and possibly neighboring Rhode Island and Connecticut.

R.A.Danny [TotalFark] 2008-08-15 11:11:26 AM
Are the Dems serious about losing again?

There's a retarded graphic designer somewhere salivating over the idea of creating a bumper sticker with a large "OK in O8" on it.

SilentStrider [TotalFark] 2008-08-15 11:58:10 AM
I hope Obama rules it out that quickly.

Seriously. That would be a death knell for his campaign. Everything you hated about the '04 campaign will come roaring right back in '08, and John McCain will be the next president.

Fark Kerry. If not for him I would not have voted Bush in '04.

Indeed. I'm still pulling for Brian Schweitzer, though I know it's a longshot. More realistically, I think it'll be Sebelius. I think it was originally going to be Kaine, but then when they tried to float Kaine to the public, he sank like a stone.

You say that like they ever weren't.

Some political insiders are telling WBZ it could happen.

what does that even mean? could frequent posters on the politics tab be considered "political insiders"? can we start calling tv stations and telling them stuff?

thats why, politically, even though i'm not big on him, i think clark would make a good choice. As a retired General, he'd put a lot of people's minds at ease over Obama's perceived lack of foreign policy experience, while at the same time neutralizing McCain's veteran status as a voting issue.

Bhasayate [TotalFark] 2008-08-15 12:00:06 PM
I think this would be extremely entertaining.

I swear, if the democrats lose this election, that would be even more entertaining.

Somehow I merged this headline and the next headline my head and ended up with: Saddam Hussein for VP?

Well, OK then. I'll consider it for a moment.

All right. Time's up. The answer is no.

Thank you. That is all.

Kerry is speaking Wednesday night at the convention, and the theme involves America's Veterans.

You dems want to win in November? Pick Evan Byah. Obama has to have a VP that is more centrist, with ZERO baggage and can carry a purple state or two.

"Multiple" defines as "consisting of, including, or involving more than one (multiple births)"

Nitpicky but it works :P

Wes Clark hasn't been announced as a speaker, and considering the VP's night is called "Securing America's Future" (which is also the name of Wes Clark's PAC), I really think it's going to be Clark.

"If I was bi-lingual, I'd say no in multiple languages. "

You can't even speak English, you lantern-jawed freak. "If I _were_ bilingual..." is correct.

Learn the subjunctive tense, you wishy-washy dolt.

Obama's VP choice will be one of only three people, in order of probability:

NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe Wesley Clark
Chuck Hagel
Russ Feingold

Book it. Done.

/Biden as a very very improbable dark horse.

Cyborg77 2008-08-15 12:15:26 PM
This is an excellent idea. It would help boost Obama's chances in the notorious battleground state of Massachusetts and take advantage of the strong approval ratings of the US Congress by adding another US Senator to the ticket. I don't see why they wouldn't do this.

I don't know about Hagel. Too much disagreement on other issues.
