At the 1988 convention Bill Clinton was considered the only person in America more boring than Mike Dukakis. He turned that into a 1992 nomination.

I like Biden, mainly due to the complete lack of a brain-to-mouth filter.

If he thinks you're an asshole, he's going to be pretty clear about it.

How can we turn this into a drinking game?

I'm telling you. That guy should have been the Dems nominee.

I'll be watching from the safety of my "Free speech zone".

You know that is amazing when you think about it. He was actually booed in 88 and gave one of the best convention acceptance speeches I have ever heard in my life in 96.

Well that's another name to cross out for the VP slot.

Darconix: Instead of making pompous speeches that no one follows up on and stiffing the caterers, I think this year's Democrat convention should involve a weekend of these empty suits poking a mental patient in a straight jacket until he screams "Libs! Libs! Libs!"

I remember you! I recall reading somewhere that you blow dead goats.

The elusive Steve Trachsel reference in a politics headline. Nicely done, Subby.

Careful, he may simply give Obama's Purple America speech from 2004.

Dammit, that's what I came to say.

Biden's funnier than his hair plugs.

So, if Biden gives a speach, he's not going to be the VP nominee? I'm pretty with it with politics, but apparently I don't know my conventions.

How does this work? I'd love Biden as VP. Love him.

I saw a speech he gave around Thanksgiving last year, while running in the primary, and yeah, he's the man.

I know I'm not suppose to say this because I'm a neocon hatemonger - you know, a Republican - and all but... I like Joe Biden. I don't often agree with him (like pretty much never), but he does make some good points which give me more things to think about. I also like him because he's smart and capable and so he keeps my side more on their toes.

Still think Biden will get tapped for Secretary of Defense.

Biden is an idiot. He will probably kiss his own butt the whole time. Gross!

Well, since they've announced a speaking slot for him at the convention, it means he won't be speaking in the slot reserved for accepting the VP nom. Which sucks. I wanted it to be Biden.

Biden's plan is to drone on for so long that Obama offers him the VP slot just to get him to shut up.
