Corsi writes for World Net Daily, a conservative Web site whose lead headline Thursday was "Astonishing photo claims: Dead Bigfoot stored on ice."

In a series of Web posts several years ago, Corsi said Pope John Paul II was senile and unconcerned about sexual molestation of boys, referred to Islam is "a worthless, dangerous Satanic religion" and suggested Kerry was secretly Jewish.

Corsi apologized for the remarks and now says he didn't mean them and was simply trying to provoke discussion.

Technically, you don't NEED to read his book if it's quoted enough as a "valid" reference.

Which isn't surprising when you look at the "chain of evidence" from the "truther" playbook as well. To be honest, a lot of what this Administration has fallen back upon is a well organized publishing net--articles published in one publication, are quoted to another, to another, and then fed into press releases, as multiply cited references, and then spun as having actually been peer reviewed as scholarship. When in fact, it's gone a round robin between inter related and similarly funded, if not entirely funded by the same organizations.

When you control your own pool of scholars to spin things, and then use them as reference, it's not quite like lying. It's just farming it out, and then claiming you thought it was "thought provoking" enough to be injected into the discussion.

And it's a cheap and dirty, and only sullies the public discourse.

What is fun, is that these are the same folks who then attack others' scholarship and references--which I suppose, it takes one to one...

Here's a small one: Corsi claims Obama did not dedicate his book to his family, but it's right there on the first page, a dedication to all of his family.

It's such a blatantly stupid and obvious mistake, it throws everything he writes into doubt. I mean, after all, how hard is it to pick up a book to see who it's dedicated too.
