Palahniuk is the sh*t. His voice does tend to get redundant if you read a couple of his books in one sitting, though.

At least Hollywood is headed back to books rather than these ridiculous comic book movies.

The Dark Knight. Enough already.

cousin-merle 2008-08-12 01:18:36 PM
Apparently subby would rather watch Meet the Spartans 2 with a score by Nickleback.

Yeah, if I had to name two universally reviled cultural artifacts, I'd go with "Fight Club" and "OK Computer".

SockMonkeyHolocaust 2008-08-12 01:19:24 PM
Oh man, if only it could be Snakes on a Plane II taking place in the Harry Potter Universe and directed by KEvin Smith from a script adapted by Joss Whedom.

IndyMBA [TotalFark] 2008-08-12 01:19:55 PM
Choke was alright but the studios should just cut to the chase and create a film version of Haunted.

doublesecretprobation [TotalFark] 2008-08-12 01:22:43 PM
'choke' as a movie? can't wait to see the scenes with the rubber balls....

NikolaiFarkoff [TotalFark] 2008-08-12 01:23:35 PM
I'm holding out for "Dude, Where's My Car Now?" with score by Fergie.

"Heh heh, these two things are really popular, so I'll say they suck, then the nerds will be all upset and I'll roll in and post 'u mad?' omg lol."

Fight Club as a movie: loved by many. Radiohead: pretty popular, I mean kinda. THEY SUCK.

I cannot wait for this movie.

I like Radiohead, and maybe it's just me, but I cannot get past Johnny Greenwood's score for There will be Blood, I just think it's so out out of place.

Well that begs the question...where should it be?
Also, fark you subby

Agreed

Agreed - was the worst part of the film. I bet it's cool to listen to on it's own but it didn't work with the story.

Ruby7 2008-08-12 01:47:39 PM
Yikes, Sam Rockwell is the perfect guy to play that role.

Davon, really? I loved that score. It made every scene so...completely stressful, but in a good way.

AnthraxRipple [TotalFark] 2008-08-12 01:50:51 PM
Radiohead does no wrong. Except "theraindropstheraindropsbar," the bitrate of In Rainbows, or that the ultimate track of any album not called "The Bends" is forgettable...

I agree with Ruby on this one. That score was awesome. It was frantic and haunting. I thought it played brilliantly with every scene, especially the part where the drilling is really starting to pick up in Little Boston.

I can't tell which fanboys are more gay. The Chuck Palahniuk ones or the Radiohead ones.

I'm seeing radiohead in 5 hours, so I'm really getting a kick out of these replies.

More insightful Radiohead lyrics:

Can't get the stink off.
No longer empty and frantic like a cat tied to a stick, that's driven into frozen winter shiat.
I'm not here. This isn't happening.
Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hhhhhhhhhhhhh
Her Hitler hairdo is making me feel ill.
I'm a reasonable man, get off my case.
ICH BIN SCHNAPPY DAS KLEINE KROKODIL.
Sometimes they call me the space cowboy.
I love you, you love me, we're a happy family.
I wish I was special.
We're fishies!
Where am I looking? Where am I looking? You can't tell.
with my x ray eyes i strip you naked
I'm in love with Elevator Operators.
oh I wish you'd get up go over get up go over and turn this tape off
Yesterday I woke up sucking a lemon.

Actually it worked quite well for me considering it was already a "2001 A Space Odyssey" homage. Pretty clear to me that they were on the same page.

I like Radiohead. I admit that I've only listened to the most recent album once (and may have not even had the chance to listen to it all the way through), but I still give Subby a

/1

I mean, wtf, Subby? Are you some sort of creep? Some type of weirdo? What the hell are you doing here? You don't belong here.

/wait...

Why the following are better than Radiohead:

Most modern rap artists - like to have sex with girls. Usually more talented.
Creed, and anything formerly associated with Creed. No longer exist, I think, unlike Radiohead, which still does.
Nickelback - are less annoying. lyrics may be crappy, but aren't AS crappy.
Celine Dion - like to have sex with girls
Most modern country artists - like to have sex with girls (except Kenny Chestnut). Actually don't whine that much.
Most contemporary Christian music - like to have sex with girls, although they are afraid to. At least they aren't like listening to Schindler's List, the soundtrack.

Doc Strange 2008-08-12 01:59:56 PM
Twice the suck?

This subby is the only Farker who hates Radiohead.
Sorry, we don't serve your kind here.

but good thing the internet is the great culture equalizer, right, ted stevens?

Valdes 2008-08-12 02:02:35 PM
Radiohead is mediocre. People who dislike Radiohead are those that weren't brainwashed by snobby music critics who think this band is the second coming of the Beatles. The second coming of Styx, maybe. Or Yes. Or any of that other prog crap from the 1970s (including Rush, who at least can play their instruments, even if the lead singer is almost as equally terrible as Thom Yorke)

NikolaiFarkoff [TotalFark] 2008-08-12 02:02:46 PM
The Bends was great. So was OK Computer. It's all been downhill (IMO) from there. They're still pretty good, but part of my criteria in good music is choosing what to listen to in the car. Kid A and Amnesiac have never made it into the car.

Seems like in their reinvention efforts, they went off the deep end.

Almost forgot to mention that even Pablo Honey was a pretty decent rock album. I was talking to some younger Radiohead fans (18-19 yrs old) and they literally don't even include anything before OK Computer in their opinion of the band.

Did you really just try and claim that Nickelback are less annoying???? Are you farking serious? Whether you like Radiohead or not, there is no way you can back up that claim. DIAF.

Survivor is my favorite of all his novels. I'm reading Snuff right now and it's just not as good.

I can't stand all the people that think this one band is the end all, be all of modern music. Really, it's like all the Rush fanboys who can't stop kissing Geddy Lee and Neal Peart's asses. They weren't even close to being the best band of the 1990s, and they haven't released anything this decade that's even close to being good enough to warrent the "Best Band in the World" argument.

Okay okay that headline hits close to home. wtf subby?
So I am all for everyone being entitled to their own opinion and all except for a few choice things that in my *opinion* make you a complete utter fool. One of these of course is to say that Radiohead sucks. Well, actually to claim anything other than Radiohead being better than almost everyone, EVER.

On a lighter note, I'm excited upon this news.

/Johnny and Thom could take a shiat and make a better song out of it than most everything else released in their history combined

Here is a photo of radiohead that you can use to identify them next time you see them:

Just remember to tell them how great you thought they were during the Bends, and how much they've sucked since.

I think it was in the works around the time 9/11 occurred and was aborted shortly thereafter for obvious reasons.

Let's look at Metacritic's reviews of the best albums of this decade. Best Albums

And though it should be much farther down the list... where does Radiohead's best album of this decade place? #52

Right below Jay-Z. That's how bad they are.
