Oh, crap. Last night I watched a doc on the rape of Nanking, and now this. Looks like I picked a bad day to give up being emo.

Before everyone cums all over themselves on how "awesome" and "lush" that sounded I want to know something--

From where were those sounds obtained?
Were those trippy and organic vintage sounds actually generated originally or were they sampled (stolen) from a Vincent Bell or Roy Budd...etc. classic 70s soundtrack?

9 times out of 10 when you hear really "cool retro" sounding music it is because some geek digitally sampled from an original source somewhere.

This song goes from good to ZOMG with with a live string section behind Damon.

See? This is why you need to keep weapons in your house.

I think this is my favorite song off of Demon Days. The music video is great too.

Q: how do you shoot women and children?
A: easy, you just don't lead them as much

Great_Milenko: zzzzzzzzzzzzzz...........

agreed

Ok, my own ignorance forces me to respond to my own above comment.

Did some research and found this is if course the guy from Blur.

I would imagine he has his own collection of classic Wurlitzers,Hammonds and Rhodes etc.. and could no doubt get the cool sounds from this song.

I love that vid.

Demon Days has to be one of the best rock/pop albums of the decade.

In case you haven't seen, Gorillaz (or Damon and Jamie, at any rate) have created the spiffing opening titles for the BBC's Olympic coverage. Darn fine stuff.

1) I thought these guys broke up

and

2) It sounds like that song they did with De La Soul.

Ummmm... I thought METAL was supposed to make me want to climb a clock tower with a high powered rifle and thin the herd?

Feel Good Inc. is still my favorite.

They're pretty good, but I prefer Noodle's old band:

Third Day Mark: Feel Good Inc. is still my favorite.

I prefer DARE and Clint Eastwood myself (yes... I know... not from Demon Days). There's still no better way to mock my stoner brother than by singing the chorus of Clint Eastwood every time he walks into the house at 3/4/5 AM.

I love Gorillaz, I remember when this album came out after I graduated from High School. I would watch the videos in the order they came out because sometimes they would tell a story. Just like Feel Good Inc. has the windmill that's featured in this video. Always good stuff in my book.

I went to the show in Harlem in 2006. Fantastic show, and worth the trip.
