Sucks to be Georgian.

On the other hand, who else is tired of athletes complaining of the heat, humidity, and pollution?

Tr0mBoNe: Sucks to be Georgian.

Too true. There's a Georgian restaurant in our neighborhood and the guys are heartbroken. I hope Pooty-Poot and Medvedevdemed end this quickly.

Those of us in the REAL Georgia and not those copycat pussies overseas send our best wishes. As long as you stop trying to claim your capital city as "Matlanta." Jerks.

Women's fencing.

Womens air rifle without any commentary (from the live streaming) was pretty boring.

Subby you fail. Georgia actually had 2,000 troops helping in Iraq, the 2nd largest foreign force there aside from the US, and are withdrawing 1,000 to return to Georgia.

I Said [TotalFark] 2008-08-09 04:33:00 PM
It's a good move to get more attention to what's going on over there.

I think it would garner a lot of sympathy, specially when they show sports where they were meant to compete with Russia.

Mens's Beach Vollyball.

Seriously, China is getting farked that Russia decided to declare war on Georgia during the Olympics. Put the guns down now! WWOD? (What Would Obama Do?)

Except that there's really no point in watching women in bikinis when those women have no breasts at all. Honestly, why do sand volleyball chicks even bother wearing the bikini tops?

/is anyone else surprised to see that all of the women's fencers are fat?

How does an article like that go to print for a major media outlet like Reuters? There were at least two or three pretty big typos/mistakes in it that are easily caught just casually reading through it.

Me too. It seems like you'd want to make yourself into as small a target as possible.

It won't. You'll still walk 3 miles to the next gate only to be told that the door is already closed and you can't board.

Abhasia (the second breakaway region) are entering the conflict now. Russia reported that they have airlifted in paratroopers and that more convoys of heavy groundtroops are entering Georgia.

This is not going to be over anytime soon..

I was watching it last night.

God bless the Russians. Those do gooders are doing their best to restore peace in the area. Oh sure some might say they are just getting a boner to steal territory and bring themselves closer to an oil pipeline..but that would be quite cynical.

I look forward to the American backlash as the Georgians find out the USA isn't as good as returning a favor.

Too true again. A "media outlet like Reuters" also happens to publish photoshopped pictures. "Now with twice the amount of smoke!"

I posted these photos I took last year in Tbilisi.
http://picasaweb.google.com/tarvuz/GeorgianIndependenceDayMay26th2007

I also lived near the border of Chechnya and Dagestan from 2005-mid 2006.

Sad to see this going on. But given the sometimes dumb shoot first nature of the Georgians with the slimey opportunistic nature of the Russian government I could have predicted something like this eventually.

That isn't fat, that's core body muscle bulked up with the various odd garments fencers wear. Sabre specialists will be the most.. muscular, you might say, in the core region because their event is more about footwork and is less aerobic.

Sharp knees are mostly a no-go for me, so now I can say I prefer the ladies with some "core body muscle". Thanks.

Putting the US to the side (aside) the Georgians are the second largest foreign force. So not counting the USA folks the Georgians make up the second largest foreign force. Is it THAT hard to understand?
