I would like to add that I am happy to be in Canada. If anybody paid any attention to my posts the last couple of days, I have mentioned a few times how much I hate NBC's broadcast of the Olympics and all their sob stories.

Little did I take the time to think that now CBC airs the Olympics up here. And they are actually watchable! They showed some beach volleyball, followed by some boxing and a soccer match. No sob stories! One right after the other.

The only down side is that they try to highlight the activities of Canadian athletes and their results. It's sad because the Canadians, well, kind of suck. I mean having athletes that finish seventh in the world isn't a bad thing, but it's not the medal extravaganza I'm used to seeing in the States.

Too bad Israel got out of the Asian football league, where such fine drama would be available every year.

First, competing in the Olympics does nothing towards legitimizing anything. On an national level, refusing to compete just makes you look like the child that you are.

Second, the The Iranian National Olympic Committee already said they would compete against Israel. The swimmer in question backed out on his own. I'm guessing his decision had more to do the possibility of failure, and not out of some allegiance to the Palestinian cause. Wouldn't it be better to show your support by besting the Palestinian's enemies?

It's like the man who refuses to compete against a woman for fear of failure. Plain and simple.

One of the Mods created is called Natural Selection. It pits Humans against an Alien race called the Kharaa. There are multiple Kharaa lifeforms, "Skulk" being the name of one of them.

That has been changing lately.

During the Seoul games, a Morrocan boxer was to meet and Israeli. TThe matter was discussed in the highest levels o government and thye consented to let him go to his weigh in.

The Israeli did not show becuase the weigh in was on Yom Kippur.
