He likes Usher? I... I don't know what to think about that.

CtrlAltDelete [TotalFark] 2008-08-07 07:19:50 PM
Barack Obama would never do something this trite, let me tell you.

jetzzfan [TotalFark] 2008-08-07 07:23:52 PM
This just proves that McCain is a media whore.

brap [TotalFark] 2008-08-07 07:26:29 PM
I'm still figuring out which sick bastage, knowing I will read ANYTHING cover to cover, sent a subscription to Entertainment Weekly to my home.

Outtaphase [TotalFark] 2008-08-07 07:27:29 PM
Born on the Fourth of July and Apocalypse Now are 2 of his favorite movies? That's a real surprise.

Etchy333 [TotalFark] 2008-08-07 07:41:41 PM
Clearly, the moderators have shown they are shamelessly biased for John McCain by greenlighting this article.

Confabulat [TotalFark] 2008-08-07 07:42:01 PM
Props to McCain for watching "The Wire." That show should be required viewing for all American politicians.

Darth_Lukecash [TotalFark] 2008-08-07 08:29:03 PM
FTFA Who is your favorite TV or movie president?
President David Palmer [Dennis Haysbert] on 24. He's fabulous. He's a guy who makes tough decisions, he takes charge, he's ready to sacrifice his interest on behalf of the interest of the country. My least favorite is the one that got stabbed by his ex-wife but who, according to your magazine, may come back to life, along with Jack Bauer's daughter, Kim...

Um, not to put you on the spot - but on 24, Palmer was the first African-American president...
You know, I hope that I and all Americans can be color-blind about any president.

What were EW thinking when they asked the second question? Like suddennly he was gonna shout out... "Wait! He was black? Crap, I thought he was tanned!"

One thing I notice, he watches a lot more TV than Obama...(good stuff though)

ZAZ [TotalFark] 2008-08-07 08:47:56 PM
The only movie President I can recall liking is Morgan Freeman in Deep Impact. He was way more Presidential than Bill Clinton.

Boritom [TotalFark] 2008-08-07 09:05:07 PM
Based on the crap in this article, I'm voting for Obama.

Megain [TotalFark] 2008-08-07 09:17:49 PM
that seals it - he just lost my vote. why was there no spoiler warning about the ending of indiana jones? i was planning on watching that one of these days. bastard. and fark you too ew for allowing him to ruin a possibly decent movie for anyone who hasn't seen it yet. that's just not cool. now i'm too afraid to click on the obama link because i don't know what other nefarious crap you have up your sleeve to dash the hopes and dreams of potential web page clicker people like me

That's almost enough to make me want to vote for him.

john_d_corr [TotalFark] 2008-08-07 09:46:55 PM
Megain

IJ4 was just okay: nothing to change your vote about. As for spoilers? C'mon, honestly now, did you really think there was ANY possibility that Indiana Jones would lose?

HOWEVER!

ABBA, Linda Ronstadt, Neil Diamond? What America needs is for fans of their music to be deported, not made President.

When he was a kid, though, he cried when Bambi's mother got shot, and he doesn't seem to watch American Idol, so, hey, maybe he's not such a bad guy after all...

Confabulat [TotalFark] 2008-08-07 10:11:22 PM
It's funny the old, out-of-touch guy watches cool TV like Dexter and Curb Your Enthusiasm, and the young hip guy can only remember M*A*S*H and Dick Van Dyke.

Tr0mBoNe: He likes Usher? I... I don't know what to think about that.

What? Maybe he wants to make love in this club. What's so wrong with imagining a 71-year-old John McCain John McCain making sweet love to his over-botoxed ice queen of a wife inside of da club?

Lenny_da_Hog 2008-08-07 10:30:58 PM
I noticed they didn't even ask McCain about video games.

Coffee or No-Doz?

Relatively Obscure [TotalFark] 2008-08-07 10:34:56 PM
Obviously there isn't much to see in these, but both of the interviews were kind of cute in their own way.

Donald_McRonald 2008-08-07 10:36:20 PM
Yeah, but back to ABBA. Is it true 'Take a Chance on Me' is your campaign theme song?
'Take a Chance on Me' was one of them. 'Sweet Caroline' is another favorite of mine. Lately, with the media, though, we've been using songs like 'My Eyes Adored You' and 'Can't Take My Eyes Off You.'

John McCain: lover of irony.

You can think that he's heard exactly 45 seconds worth of Usher, but knows he's popular with the kids these days what with their droopy britches and blingers.

Ask 2008-08-07 11:11:14 PM

I'd have picked something that was a metaphor for Vietnam. But I guess you conservitards don't understand metaphors. What with your being too busy watching shallow war movies and all.

Well, well. First of all, you weren't asked the question so we'll never know. Secondly, while I applaud your very clever use of name-calling and insult, I'm rather amused that you think I'm a "conservitard" just because I didn't agree with some post attacking McCain that was actually ridiculous.

gODDhead 2008-08-07 11:37:37 PM
But what is Obama's favorite 'Nam movie??

I'm guessing "Sir! No Sir! The suppressed story of the GI movement to end the war in Vietnam"

Wight Power [TotalFark] 2008-08-07 11:38:58 PM
It's the little, simple things like this where McCain gets to be McCain that remind me why I would have voted for him in the last two elections had he won the candidate spot.

Yeah, it's EW, but the guy can show that he's legitimate and sincere and not "way out of touch" like he does in his speeches and ads.

I wish he would have stuck to that road. The "I'm an actual good, normal guy" road, not the "zomg, Hussien Obamessiah is going to ruin our country and sell it to terrorists!!1!one" road. I know every campaign is going to have some mud thrown around, but all he chooses to throw is bitterness and unyeilding contempt.

Honestly, give me something McCain. It's politics, but at least Obama gives me something to vote for at this point. McCain just gives me anger and cynicism which I've really got enough of right now.

Korovyov [TotalFark] 2008-08-07 11:50:02 PM
In their shoes, I would have been tempted to give rather twisted answers to see how far I could take 'em (claiming 'Legend of the Overfiend' or 'Apocalypto' as a favorite movie, liking 'Inna Gadda da Vidda' or 'In the year 2525', citing 'Big Brother' as favorite show, citing "Custer's Revenge" as the last video game I played)... but then, I'm more of an asshole than a politician. :p

I've got more in common with McCain - maybe it's because Cindy buys HBO

Somehow I doubt it. Two anti-war movies...while he schills for Iraq. Either he is a liar or is too stupid to actually understand those two movies. Granted, if you are stupid Apocolypse Now would be the ultimate pro-war movie...again, only if you are stupid.

McCain doesn't know Usher from Snoop Dogg. They both suck but the old man knows nothing about either. He is pandering. Usher is all squeeky clean, though. I would pay money to see McCain at a DMX concert.

Ugh, that is hurtful. Ledger played The Joker to a T. I doubt the Joker will ever be featured in another Batman movie.
