Job was my favorite bible story.

Oh, so they planned that grocery store visit for a specific reason. I just figured it occurred organically without specific forethought by the campaign team.

Obamatrons communicate through mind waves, didn't you know that? Memo's are so 1990's.

Is it OK to paint Obama? Isn't that racist?

In contrast, McCain will be positioned as a bold leader on economic matters, someone who has a "record of taking on corporate interests"...

And by "taking on" we mean hiring their lobbyists.

The first time I read it, I thought that they meant "taking on" as a synonym for "to become encumbered with."

You mean the guy who couldn't tell you what a gallon of milk cost? And no, I don't mean the recent photo-op in the grocery store, but last year when he was stumped on what a gallon of milk cost.

A man who's never held a private sector job, is going to tell folks he understands their pain. With a millionaire wife. In $500 shoes.

Who's the elitist here? And come to think of it, despite decrying Obama's trip to the Middle East and Europe, where was he in June? That was Ottawa. And wasn't he in London in March?

The man really needs to review his own record before pointing at anyone else's...

It's like he forgets that people have memories, and access to HIS OWN DAMN RECORD!

For chrissakes, he's side stepping the very finance reforms that he wrote. How can I respect this windsock?

As opposed to the Republican plan of supporting corporations who export manufacturing jobs overseas AND giving them tax breaks for doing so....

Oh yeah, great move there guys. absolutely nobody will notice THAT bit of hypocrisy.....

I'm not so sure about that. It is incredibly easy to fact check a politician now. Most people started doing it to Hillary during the primary....that's the sort of habit that should have McCain crapping his pants.

It's an unfortunate side effect of relying on bloggers as a part of your PR strategy. People get kind of used to that sort of connectivity, and then they start looking for stuff on their own, and next thing you know, they're coming across Google caches...

To be fair, it worked out well for quite a while. Then the bloggers started ranting into the ether between melee rounds from mom's basement.

I know it's easy to fact check a politician, but so very few people actually do it. Why else would so many people still refer to McCain as a "maverick" or a RINO(p)

GAT_00 [TotalFark] 2008-08-07 03:08:00 PM
Yes, Obama kills jobs, unlike McCain, who has lobbyists that orchestrate mergers that kill hundreds of jobs.

Hmm. I appear to have failed to deploy my snark clearly enough. I agree that they are being hypocritical. I also agree that people are starting to figure out how badly this is boning them. However...

You have to admit that it's taken a while for a sizable number of people to realize what was happening with that. And there are still plenty of dim bastards out there (I'm referring to those actually directly hurt by it, the ones who make money off of the move I can at least understand supporting the moves) who don't understand that they are cheering on actions that only hurt their own interests and those of the nation at large.

McCain is doing the only thing he can do, which is to smear Obama. This works with a certain...class...of people (think about the 23% who approve of Bush).

It makes real Republicans angry.

October will be an interesting month, I suspect. Obama will win and the Dems will take further control of Congress.

Nice one, Neo-Con farktards...

FTFA: "Our polling tells us that Americans are still not tuned into what the candidates might do to fix the economy," reads the memo. "We have an opportunity to fill in that gap."

Wow, way to play directly into Obama's hands. This will give him an opportunity to talk about his plans, and have people listen to him becuase they want to know how he'll respond.

Obama's political judo is top-notch, and he's been all about 'American jobs for Americans'. This whole idea is flawed. I'm really starting to think the campaign is being intentionally thrown.

Moreover, I'm sure they can ensure a strong turnout of the base running on an anti-business platform.

This is already working, by the way. Today, right here on Fark, someone said in all seriousness that Obama's proposed tax changes would cause some small businesses to close up shop.

This man makes no sense. He could have been Goldwater's heir, but chose to crap that away. After the Keating Five scandal, he went from outright voting down campaign reform and taking earmarks to hiding his campaign contributions and turning away earmarks. *After* he got burnt.

Goldwater? Oh he only asked for one of the largest earmarks in US history- CAP (new window). And as a citizen of this fine state of Arizona I want to thank Barry for his contributions and would like to take this time to tell McCain to fark off.
