I've been a metal fan all my life and I've never felt better--- puppies run the Hasbro factory.

Study also finds that circular-breathing Tuvan thoat singers don't tend to marry - but they get lots of dates.

Yeah. Mercury, lead, and plutonium can really mess with your brain chemistry. Heck. Aluminum is thought to cause Alzheimer's.

So can John, Brian and Roger.

Nothing was mentioned on the genres of indie, punk or alternative.

They dope themselves up on heroin & blow there heads off because they're living a pretty good life.

My friend had a breakdown in the early 80s and stayed in the Psych ward of the local hospital for a while. The staff there told me that the thing that all the patients had in common was that they were all fans of The Doors or Pink Floyd or both. Take that for what you will.

Subby needs to get their facts straight. Country music generally leads to an increase in the suicide rate, not the inbreeding rate.

My sole purpose in life is to get my son into some seriously heavy shiat. The day he choses some pop shiat over metal is the day i have failed as a parent.

My metal range goes all the way from glam and 80's (Def Leppard, Queensryche, oldschool Metallica) all the way to this newfangled hard ass metal like CoB, Devildriver, and of course, Dethklok.

I haven't been on a greyhound lately, so I have no real litmus test, but I seem to be doing okay!

/probably the kind Canadian bud.

Or it could be that teenagers listen to metal, and a variety of mental ilnness do not become prevelant or noticable untyil that age. Older people listening to other generas have already passed the onset of these illnesses.

Finished with my woman
'cause she couldn't help me with my mind
People think I'm insane
because I am frowning all the time

All day long I think of things
but nothing seems to satisfy
Think I'll lose my mind
if I don't find something to sacrifice

Can you help me, occupy my brain?
Oh yeah
I need someone to show me
the things in life that I can't find
I can't see the things that make true happiness,
I must be blind

Make a joke and I will sigh
and you will laugh and I will cry
Happiness I cannot feel and
love to me is so unreal

And so as you hear these words
telling you now of my state
I tell you to enjoy life
I wish I could but it's too late

Is it just me, or does this study just reaffirm ever stereotype about music? It just seems too simple. In a study last year, researchers said that Metal fans were smarter...I'll take that one

TeddyRooseveltsMustache: Okay so I just actually RTFA, and they think that metal heads want to kill themselves? I think they confused metal with emo.

Pray for blood
Pray for the cleansing
Pray for the flood
Pray for the end of this nightmare
This lie of a life can as quickly as it came dissolve

We seek only reprieve
And welcome the darkness
The myth of a meaning, so lost and forgotten

Take hold of my hand
For you are no longer alone
Walk with me in hell

Pray for solace
Pray for resolve
Pray for a savior
Pray for deliverance
Some kind of purpose, a glimpse of a light in this void of existence

Oh...
Now witness the end of an age
Hope dies in hands of believers
Who seek the truth in the liar's eyes

Take hold of my hand
For you are no longer alone
Walk with me in hell

Walk with me in hell
Walk with me in hell
Walk with me in hell
Walk with me in hell
Walk with me in hell

Take hold of my hand
For you are no longer alone
Walk with me in hell

Walk with me in hell
Walk with me in hell

You're never alone
You're never alone
You're never alone

You're never alone
You're never alone
Walk with me in hell

/Now just imagine AFI or My Chemical Romance singing those lyrics...

No no, only the ones who listen to that Judas Priest song that tells you to "Do it"

You know... in the guitar.

But only if you listen to it like 50 times in one day...

Yeah, I do believe Judas Priest was acquitted because the judge said it was just a fluke in the music and couldn't be proven that it was intentional.

Pop music for people that hate their dad.

It's the other way around, we listen to the music we do because we are who we are.

A study, published in today's Australasian Psychiatry journal, claims that teenagers who listen to heavy metal are big on unprotected sex, self-harm and shoplifting, with fans of pop having to deal with curiosity on their sexuality and worries about peer-acceptance are either girls or gay.

That's better

What, did the skip the obvious - that Emo leads to black hair-dye, facial piercings, and cutting?

Or that bubblegum pop leads to prostitot outfits?
