You know, I was just thinking about something like this recently -

I was in this band, and we had a song about smoking pot, and it was cool because all of us smoked. Then one of the guys had to quit the band, and the guy who replaced him took over singing the songs that the guy who left used to sing. We thought he kept the lyrics the same until we heard this live recording, where he changed "I just smoked it" to "I just cooked it". We didn't care so much that he was a junkie, we were pissed that he took something we could all get behind and changed it to something only about him.

So yeah, hard-drug users can talk about "cooking".
