Pitch corrector would have been a hard metaphor.

I thought the first word in the headline was 'Sorcerers' and I wondered what they had to do with Paula Abdul.

Her voice may be mixing, but I just love her outfit!

What I don't get is why anyone would want to hear her perform even if she HAD the studio magic.

When she was in the funky way?

Anyway, she can't do it because whenever she dances nowadays, she imagines that cartoon cat following her and freaks out. It's her own little pop version of the Twilight Zone.

What if the Today show were to promise her the world?

Why do you think she's so damn nice to all the contestants on American Idol? She knows what it's like to be a singer who can't sing. She managed to distract people with her dancing until she plumped up, and then it was game over. The moral? A lack of talent can be compensated for, but there's no cure for being fat in Hollywood.

I don't understand why she would be booked in the first place.

If you know you can't sing, and have no intention of ever actually performing live on the show, why sign-up only to cancel later due to "scheduling commitments"?

All it does is make you look like an attention whore.

Oh wait, I think I just answered my own question.

I think she initially did it to counter all the bad press she's been getting--the odd drug-related behavior, the boozing, the sleeping with contestants on the show along with the unflattering reality show--but then reality set in and she realizes that she cannot turn back the clock to 1991. Hence, she keeps canceling.
