Out of curiosity, what is the feelings about Lieberman in his home district?

That's good news since it doesn't look like McCain could last long as president.

Sounds like we're talking about McCain

Well, home state, since he's a Senator. And he's got a 45% approval rating, nearly tied with his 43% disapproval rating. (Quinnipiac 6.1.2008)

big_pth: of Israel?

Kaine is obviously not strong enough on foreign policy to be VP. He should know that they call it Prime Minister over there.

oldebayer: I thought Israel had Prime Ministers, not Presidents.

Actually, they have both. The prime minister has all the power, though.

BTW I honestly don't think Lieberman will be a running mate again

Falcc 2008-08-03 10:32:58 PM
Keep in mind that Dick Cheney is also a potential VP pick for Obama. He'll never be picked in a million years, but he's eligible for the position so let's all write articles about his views and link them to Obama. Do you think he loves America more than Obama?

Let me get this straight: the Democrat thinks the other Democrat would be a great president? Stop the presses, this is news!

Technically, I think he's listed as an "Independant Democrat," whatever that means...

Nonetheless, I'm more stricken by comments from people of the same party voicing their opinions against those of the same party, like Thad Cochran who said (of McCain): "The thought of his being president sends a cold chill down my spine...He is erratic. He is hotheaded. He loses his temper and he worries me."

According to wiki he's now endorsing McCain, but the article listed as a citation doesn't really say that...

Tabatha Static: That's good news since it doesn't look like McCain could last long as president.

Yeah, if McCain is elected, he'll be President for about 45 minutes before he's replaced by President "VP-Elect". Fastest double-swearing in in history.

Lieberman would be a good pick to kill any last desperate hope of getting some of the youth vote.

A guy who can't use a computer and a guy that wants to censor everything in sight. Sounds like a great combination.

GoodasGold 2008-08-03 11:25:27 PM
I thought Joe was going to be Obama's running mate.

Just as long as they both choose Israel-Firsters, the campaign can proceed with the blessing of the New York Times.

To be fair, both of those guys are known heroin addicts. I'm sure that played a role here.

Wight Power: Technically, I think he's listed as an "Independant Democrat," whatever that means...

It means that he ran for office as an independent (after losing his party's primary) but that he caucuses with the Democrats.

Yeah, Cochran is one of my Senators (Mississippi). I understand party loyalty, but I wish that he had stuck to his guns about McCain.

Wonder what the before-and-after looked like on FDR. I mean, dude served three full terms and part of his fourth, during one of the world's great economic crises and a god damn world war.

Surely that has to have been at least as profound a change?

I dunno. 8 years is 8 years. Going from 54 to 62 affects everyone.

If I look at a picture of myself from 8 years ago, I'm definitely grayer and fatter.

Well, considering that the "after" pic involved a coffin...

No, he can call himself whatever he wants but he is not a Democrat. Technically he is a "Connecticut for Lieberman" party guy. Nothing Democratic or Democrat about his title.

As an Obama supporter I think Joe Lieberman is the PERFECT VP for McCain.
