With HD camcorders, Photoshop and After Effects in the consumer price range, we could be invaded ID4-style and only the gullible would believe it unless they were witnessing it first hand. Same goes for Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster and another moon landing.

Well, they were flying, and they couldn't be identified. So, they were unidentified flying objects.

Isn't it unusual they always claim they're lanterns or balloons or something now, but we never get names or quotes or anything from the people who allegedly did it to verify such claims?

Especially in cases like this, where many people supposedly released things into the air and they're "aware" they did, if they found out such an event occurred it only makes sense they'd at least have a name or statement from the people as well.

They have no evidence to back up their claims. these mysterious "Party Goers" are becoming an enigma unto themselves. They sure are pervasive, too.

nasor: Why the fark would you CALL THE POLICE over this?

Yeah, I came in to ask that.
I really don't understand it. So I see a strange light in the sky--I'm going to call Barney Fife to come out and shoot it for me?

DreamWeaver: nothing?

Oh, I don't know. Depending on location, you could start a forest fire. Or accidentally burn down somebody's house. I mean, the candles probably wouldn't last all that long, but you can't be sure it's not going to get blown over an oil refinery before the balloon pops and drops the lit candle somewhere very bad.
I could imagine doing this in SoCal would have the police beating down your door.

It's all part of the cosmic unconsciousness.

Next time you have a box of cake candles, go ahead and wave one around. By the time one fell from a balloon, it would almost definitely have gone out.

Does it have to be candles, can I do one using a little led or something, would that work.

If something you're drinking makes you hallucinate i recommend not leaving your drinks unattended at the bar.

And just like lit candles on balloons flying high, their wishes would come crashing down sooner or later.
