As an exercise in raising my kids in reality (Not TV-ality), I took my son to that shiat-box store and bought one of the Mouse-trap games he so coveted. We took the game parts out of the box, and after some frustrating time spent assembling the piece-o-crap(tm) - it was time to "play". Did it work - no. Was it fun - no. Did it in ANY way resemble the image on the box? Not remotely.
He went back to Legos and, at an early age, learned that advertising is not your friend.

They don't list the unit of measurement. If it were inches, it would be equal to what the first picture showed, but it seems more like its CM. Either that, or the little girl in the picture is 6-8 feet tall. No way the pool is 17 inches high and it only comes up to her knees.

I hope next time you buy something like, say, new car tires where the actual physical item you see on display isn't what's being installed, they put old, balding tires on. Then, when you go apeshiat upon seeing the garbage tires on your vehicle, the dealer says "SUCKER! No sympathy. You didn't read the fine print under the display that clearly stated "may not represent actual installed product."

Mouse Trap kicks ass, and I never had any problems getting it to work as a kid. I had a chance to play the modern version of it not too long ago, and the plastic was a little cheaper than when I was a kid, but it was still functional.

Normally I would agree, if it was one of those 'too good to be true' products. But at $90 I would expect to get exactly what this picture is showing me.

I remember way back in the early sixties, they advertised a remote control tiger on TV. The commercial showed what looked like a very life-like tiger that appeared to be about 3 foot long from nose to tail. My Mom sent away for it as a gift for either Christmas or my birthday. She was more disapointed than I was when the "tiger" arrived. It was actually only about 6 inches long and when you pushed the walk button on the wired remote the tiger would just move it's legs and fall over.

There is a simple solution, cut off the kids legs. Then more kids will fit into the pool, and it willl seem deeper.

When you buy tires, you ask for a certain size and model, which are always printed right on the tire. It's on the seller that you get exactly that tire. But it's on YOU to ask for what you want. If you don't like that model or size, you need to determine this on your own, in advance.

I haven't seen new one's, as I'm still childless at 28, but I never had problems with it as a kid. It always worked. If they don't now, I'm sure it's because of cheaper parts.


Anyways, yeah, this is ridiculous. Sure, the burger doesn't look like the picture but you're still getting a burger. The picture shows a pool large enough for a couple of kids, complete with slide, not the inflatable bucket with angled bump that it is. There are limits to what should be allowed when spicing up an image for box art.
