This is nice of him and all, but I'd guess that close to 100% of this guy's fan base would already vote for McCain anyway, if they vote at all. He'd generate more votes going door-to-door.

In an interview, Rich said he hadn't been involved in politics before but got excited about the Arizona senator's campaign.

He finished the song about a month ago and sent it to McCain's daughter Meghan, who sent it onto campaign officials.

Ohhh, I get it. Nice move, John. Nice move...

Why do righties think this dazed and confused old man is capable of managing National Security? What he did 40 years ago, admirable though it may be, does nothing to change the fact that he can't even remember where the countries we're deployed in are. His wife has to print out his email for him, for chrissakes. Give him a few coupons for the Early Bird Special at Bob Evans and be done with it.

Wow, the song repeats the chorus about twelve times and all two of the verses are about his POW experience. It's like McCain wrote the song himself.

Good thing we're not easily distracted or anything. Not only are the American people as a whole totally devoid of ADHD but the American government would never take their eyes off a legitimate threat just when we're most vuln- hey look, Iraq!

And this great war hero
who calls his wife a coont
Will be by your side
When your mortgage lender gives you the boot
And just about when you are all settled in
and felling good about being on the street,
He'll break out in a "bomb bomb bomb Iran" country beat...

That's oversimplifying it a little. As a solo artist, he hasn't done too well...but he's made his mint in three other areas - as a lead singer and sometimes lead vocalist in Lonestar (until 1998), as part of the duo Big and Rich, which is known for Save a Horse Ride a Cowboy, and as a songwriter.

This is the problem with how people think about Foreign policy. Guess what jack ass, most of the world could give two shiats about us if we weren't always farking around in their country/region/economics. If we had sound foreign policy, no one would want to sucker punch us.

Pretty sure that McCain doesn't know jack shiat about foreign policy and will just keep following Dubya's lead of being a huge asshole.

I've always said that saying 57 instead of 47 once is far worse than continually mistaking one major sect of the predominant religion in a region we're at war in with another while running exclusively on foreign policy experience, even after being corrected, dispite the fact that one group in one sect were the perpetrators of 9/11 while a country in the other group is one of their biggest enemies. Why, Obama's mistake could have easily caused us to rush into war with another country while our armed forces are sorely overtaxed and we're spending a fortune borrowed from an increasingly powerful China. 57 States is the most dangerous thing any politican has said.

It's interesting to note in light of the McCain Paris/Britney ads that McCain, who styles himself a man of the people in contrast to Obama's empty suit celebrity, wears $520 Ferragamo shoes!

Obama's family dressed him down on national television for owning the same suit pants for over a decade; and McCain wears $520 Italian shoes????

I think one of these candidates has confused his lavish Washington lifestyle with the 'experience' needed to run the country. I for one think it's a GOOD thing that Obama hasn't spent most of his adult life living it up in Washington.

Who's the real empty suit? The guy who knows how to talk about everything from the war to economics, and who graduated top of his class from Harvard?

Or the guy who admits he doesn't know enough about anything to talk about anything, who finished at the bottom of his class at the school to which he was a legacy admission, and who thinks wearing $520 Italian shoes MAKES HIM A MAN OF THE PEOPLE???

Can you afford $520 Italian shoes?

We've already elected one president who didn't know his ass from a hole in the ground, relying on his cabinet and staff to do the job for him. I really don't think we can afford another one.

The question isn't experience. It's basic competence. McCain has yet to demonstrate his.

Falcc: I've always said that saying 57 instead of 47

Wait, what he really meant to say was 47? I always thought it was 50. Jesus, people, the man had been giving speech after speech and traveling all over the country campaigning against the most powerful political figure in the country, and you call him stupid for a little oratorical slip that was very close to what he meant to say anyway? Are you REALLY that petty and stupid? I mean, saying 57 instead of 50 is kind of strange, but even the most gifted orators may occasionally make the mistake Obama did.

Might as well hand the presidency to McCain. In this country, appeals to stupidity work better than appeals to intelligence.

At the time 47 states had held their primaries and he was saying how they had already worked hard in 47 states, but instead he said 57 states. He then continued what was likely his third straight night with less than 4 hours sleep without trivilizing the bombing of Iran. Now if he only knew who to blow to get called a Maverick his hot wife could have this contest wrapped up tomorow.

If you see the comment, he says something along the lines of "I've been to 57 states, all but one, they won't let me go to Alaska or Hawaii".

So he meant to say "I've been to 47 states, all but one of the contiguous ones". It's pretty obvious that's what he meant from the quote, but the Freepers tried to turn that into some sort of "he's a Secret Mooslim!!!" thing. Apparently, there are 57 Islamic states or something.

If you listen to the quote, there's actually a pause between him saying "Fifty" and "Seven." He realized that he accidentally said fifty instead of forty, but rather than correct himself, he just continued on with what he was saying assuming that people would know what he meant.

It's not like he actually thinks there's 57 states, and needed someone to lean in and whisper into his ear the correction.

FALCC-

I know, I was indeed agreeing with you. I'm so sick of this one misspeak repeated a zillion times, when McCain can barely go the day without displaying some fundamental misunderstanding of the world.

I like McCain. He seems like a nice guy. But he's running for an office that requires him to be on-call 24/7 for at least 4 years straight. He will probably be called upon to make snap judgments that result in the deaths of hundreds or thousands of people. His actions will directly impact the lives of 300,000,000 Americans and an untold number of foreigners. Bush has shown that being an affable guy isn't enough. McCain might have been up to the job when he was Obama's age - in 1982 - but no longer. His time has passed.
