How not to steal a "warning: wet floor" cone from Wendy's (this happened one night when I worked there as a teenager)

Don't:

a) load the cone in your car across from the drive-thru window so we can see you do it and write down your plate number.
b) forget your wallet on the table that we found after cleaning up the mess you and your friends left.
c) call us back and ask to come pick up your wallet and then arrive with the same car and friends you stole the cone with.
d) forget to thank the cop who let you get off easy after he made you drive home and bring back the cone.

Something like this happened to me...
A girl from my college stole my wallet from an on-campus bathroom and used my credit card to make a bunch of fraudulent purchases at Target and Best Buy.
Two weeks later, an RA from one of the dorms emailed me that my ID and cards had been found in the bathroom. When I looked at them, they were all mixed up with the ID and cards of the girl who had stolen and used them.
After that tip, campus police searched her dorm room (my cards had been found in a bathroom in that building) and found stolen laptops, and all the stuff that had been bought on my card.
Seriously, if you're going to commit fraud, don't keep the stolen goods in a room that isn't yours and can be searched at any time!
