I'm a city person, temporarily living in a small town that would do something just like this.

It's constant amusement. Really. And hell, we can't even afford tasers around here!

Any St. Louisan here will tell you this is no surprise, coming out of Wellston.

Or Hillsdale.

Or Pine Lawn.

They may all be "suburbs" but in many ways they're worse than the city proper.

Fark Wellston. Fark it in the ear.

A lot of cops are nothing more than childish, egocentric entitlement whores and borderline felons.

Proceed carefully.

As I was clicking on this link, I thought to myself, "It would be funny if this was in St. Louis." Our police chief just resigned under a cloud of scandal, and I thought it would be hilarious if it was him. Well, Wellston is about two miles from here, so its the next best thing.

Needless to say, I laughed out loud when I saw the link was to Fox 2 News...

I think it is police policy not to taze anyone who isn't handcuffed, has a broken back, or is incapacitated in one way.

Let me enlighten those of you not familiar with small town police departments.

The old chief had enough information about the new chief to send him to prison, but not quite enough to prevent him from winning the election. Now, the new chief (whose nerves were on edge, knowing that winning is his only chance) will send him to prison.

Buh.. buh.. buh.. but, which town is that?

All of them.

So sick of hearing this. Everyone's ultimately a product of their environment, and if the area is filled with bad people and corruption, the cops are at risk of falling from grace also. They have to see crime, death, and chaos day in and day out, and it gets to the point where one might think they have to play the game to get ahead. Even worse, there's cities with so much crime that the Sheriff's office and police departments are desperate for recruits. They'll blow anyone who wants a badge through a crash course in law enforcement as long as they have a pulse.

Despite your efforts to have us believe the opposite, corruption and brutality are not part of standard police training nor the creed of the everyday officer. Believe me, there's thousands of towns and cities with respectable and trustworthy police forces in the US. I live in one.

Anyone? It was glaringly obvious. I'm surprised no one mentioned it.

Probably because it wouldn't be P.C. to mention it... nonetheless, truth is just so obvious sometimes.

The thing is that while most of us know that most cops don't do the really farked up stuff, we also know that even the one's who don't usually cover for the one's who do.

I'll give you this. Whether out of fear of repercussion or general camaraderie, officers always protect their own. Like any other business. The only difference is you expect to trust the police; nobody expects to trust a business.
