Yeah, what we need is a confused old man... he'll fit the decor of the White House much better...

I think Fox is just mad that they've tossed themselves in the tank for the losers this time around.

Bush, the seemingly "cooler" candidate, won over the stuffy Kerry.
OK
"People credit Bill Clinton playing the saxophone ... with helping him win in '92 by drawing in a young audience who went and told their parents about it," she said. "Now it's 16 years later, and those people have kids and they've been through what a cool president can get you. It's not really worth it."

Like subby said, where the hell are they going with this? Don't vote for the cooler candidate unless it's our guy?

In other news: MTV VJ Kennedy is still alive...

"Coolness" is relative--and I seem to recall likeability was an issue in the last two election cycles--Lurch or Woodenhead? And the two before that--you sort of felt bad for George running against an affable Arkansas Governor, and then sending the eminently qualified but sacrificial Bob Dole out against him a second go 'round.

In other words, the GOP really doesn't like Rock the Vote. It brings out voters who really screw up their curve--especially when you look at McCain's "Extreme Tour Bus" videos...

We've got all of August, the entirety of September, and 100% of October to get through this stuff.

And then we've still got a week of November, too. Yikes.

Yes, McCain is OLD. Obama is a ROCK STAR. We GET it.

From that awful reign of terror that was the Joe Cool Clinton administration to the fact that this wisdom is being dropped from the fountain of knowledge that is former MTV VJ Kennedy, there's so much wrong with this nugget I'm not sure what else to say.

"When Will.i.am makes a music video about you with a bunch of celebrities and you've got videos up on MySpace and everything, I know it sounds dumb, but it does have an effect on me," Zernow said. "People my age notice when a celebrity we like, like Scarlett Johansson, supports a particular candidate."

I swear to god, I feel like killing everyone associated with this article. farking dumbest shiat ever.

The economy, the War on Terror or enjoyment of music by music mogul Jay-Z.

No, it's not a bad version of Johnny Carson's famous "Carnac"; it's a list of issues that could be most important to one solid bloc of voters in November.

Got some link, or is that just a strong hunch?

To get show-specific, Bill O'Reilly's audience is dwindling (or dying from old age), while Keith Olbermann keeps getting higher ratings.

Yeah, I guess. Argument's fallacious anyhow, Clinton won in '92 mostly because:
(1) "Read my lips: no new taxes"
(2) Ross Perot

Admittedly, he was kind of cool, though. Albeit a complete dick and a mediocre president at best. Glad nothing particularly bad happened during his watch, I'm sure he would have managed to screw it up. Coolly.

//Article is more than slightly stupid.

Kennedy has a tattoo of the Republican elephant on her thigh. It's not like she's biased or anything.

I guess the implication is that because she was on MTV at some point, she must have some cachet with the kids. She's just another boring talk show host now. She was a pretty boring VJ as well, come to think of it.

IIRC, she was famous for being rather disliked by viewers.

I agree on 1) but Perot stole nearly equally from both candidates bases.
