No HERO tag?

DeCypher44 [TotalFark] 2008-07-30 02:22:43 PM
It's really time to decriminalize the use of marijuana. I've long been a proponent of treating it like alcohol and tobacco. Sell it, tax it, profit.

BTW, I don't use it myself.

And, yes, I posted in many of these threads. I think that this is a very important topic. It is also sad that it gets easily pushed aside by those who take a hard stance against "drugs". There are more prescription drugs out there that get handed out left and right that are much more damaging and addictive.

Ummm.... no. That'd be a little over 6 pounds of pot. It's 100 grams (about 4 oz.)

Kind of like a stoner "Volstead" act.

There's got to be a clever pun in that...

The "Pothead Act?"

Corrupt as any other politician.

The fact that such a large percentage of the population supports decriminalization and yet it never seems to get passed is a great example of how democracy has failed us.

Subby: smoking poles

You know who else liked to smoke Poles?

Anyway, yay! Won't get far, but at least it was brought up.

i agree but i find it funny that they want to keep government out of our private business

democrats legislate to protect us from physically harming ourselves, repubs try to legislate our moral salvation

both parties should fark off

pre-emptive legalization topic for the prez candidates to talk about?

I know that myself, a libertarian leaning conservative would vote for Obama if he came out in support of decrim.

Nice.

So I hear.

"The vast amount of human activity ought to be none of the government's business."

Wow. A quote that the vast majority of all Farkers can agree with, coming from a powerful Congresscritter? These are heady times, indeed.

FTA: "There have been 20 million marijuana-related arrests since 1965, he said, and 11 million since 1990, and "every 38 seconds, a marijuana smoker is arrested."

Nice to see that I am a statistic in a CNN article.
